About this listen

The only woman I ever loved died in a car crash. Or so everyone told me.
But a decade later, I find her alive.
Her memory is gone, and she believes my enemies are her family.
Unraveling what happened could get both of us killed.
But giving her up is unthinkable. I'll protect her and make her mine forever. No matter the cost.

Cliff Hanger - Dual Narration

After 11 hours and 5 minutes, I find out this book is a cliffhanger. Ug!!!

BUT this book is well written and performed so, of course, I bought the next in the series. I am guessing Book 2 will be a cliffhanger as well but I am invested in the characters and the performances of the narrators are excellent.

On to Book 2.

3.75 stars

I wish I had not read the blurb. Since at least the first 40% of the book is in the past before the memory loss all I wanted to do was rush to get to that point. It really took me out of the story. Had I not known about the amnesia before hand I think it would have been an epic twist. Still a good book and I'm definitely going to listen to the next to see where the story goes.

Narrators both did a great job with all the characters.

I’M IN AWE.. A TRULY RIVETING EPIC JOURNEY

Wow Ms Lee thank you.. thank you.. thank you - what an intense, gripping, well-executed, suspenseful, meaty trilogy this turned out to be. There’s just so much story weaved into its nearly 35 hour plot-line which initially has disbelief clouding reason and judgement as the damaged Billionaire’s senses are sent reeling when he comes face-to-face with a carbon copy of the woman he once loved and lost. Ten years is a long time.. Tony can’t believe his eyes.. and his guilt-ridden memories may be flawed. However, evil treachery and life-altering lies cover a wicked web of deceit.. nevertheless the impossible slowly turns into the possible for a besotted Tony as coincidences, attraction, chemistry and his reawakened heart blurs truth and fiction for a while. And, as clues are slowly unearthed and pieced together during their journey, the mystery is finally solved.. and it reveals a shocking truth.

This three-part rollercoaster romance had depth, colorful descriptive scenes, character growth and a beautiful swoon-worthy romance between an obsessive, protective, very emotionally damaged hero who gets a second chance with the love of his life. The dual POV romance has it all.. mystery, angst, conflict, heartache, sex, sweet sighworthy sentiments, passion, sins, secrets, lies, revelations, twists, intrigue and finally forgiveness. There’s a sweet heroine suffering from amnesia whose strength grows and grows, a hero who desperately tries to hold on to his second chance but needs to forgive himself before he can be free from his damaged past, a cast of interesting and varied secondary characters and so.. so.. so much more. Every step of the way I was truly invested in this romance.. I was anxiously gripped, completely consumed, thrilled and blown-away as the drama slowly revealed it’s masterfully written evil plot.. and I was emotionally exhausted when it finally had to end. Suspicion was all around.. trust was hard won.. my finger pointed to the possible, the probable and the proven.. and still Ms Lee managed to sucker-punch me.

Worth a credit? OMG yes yes yes. Apart from it having a perfectly paced, tightly weaved, multi-structured plot-line, the narration by Brian and Summer brought the action, suspense, characters and feels to life making it a memorable binge-worthy story.

Anthony Blackwood (aka Tony) and Ivy/Iris Smith

*****SPOILER ALERT*****

Sins by Nadia Lee. Sins Trilogy, book one. Audiobook review. Dual POV. Dual narration. It ends with a cliffhanger, but the next 2 books are available. The audiobook is listed as 11 hours 5 minutes; I listened at speed 2.50 for 4 hours 26 minutes. Narrators Brian Pallino and Summer Roberts both did a good job (they both prounced Tatiana multiple ways). Content warnings: memories of when a 6 year old died; emotionally distant and psychologically abusive mom; adoption; car accident leading to a coma and amnesia; assault on a woman (two different incidents); and a CLIFFHANGER.

PART ONE: Tony and Ivy meet when Tony was 21 and Ivy was 18. They're cousins, Tony's aunt and uncle adopted her after her mom died, and when her adoptive parents were killed in a car accident, Tony's mom took her in. Tony was exiled to a boarding school in Europe after the death of little his sister and had never met her until now. Tony graduated early from Princeton and was asked to come home for an award his father is about to receive. Tony is hopeful his mom will forgive him.

PART TWO (9 years later): Tony has been disowned by his parents. Ivy now believes she's Iris and suffers from amnesia.

Excellent trilogy! Lots of crossover characters from Nadia Lee's other series. JP

Cliffhanger.....DNF Irritating

I tried. I really did. Almost 5 hrs in and I was ready to pull my hair out. I decided to listen because I wanted to know how Tony and Ivy met. I had already read Marrying My Billionaire Hookup. Tony, his brothers, Ivy, and their parents were pretty prominently featured in the book.

Approximately. 25, 26+ chapters in and all I could think is how doesn't Tony know, how could he not know. At some point, it hit me that I just wanted to know Tony & Ivy's story, but I wasn't willing to sit through 2 more books, not to mention the other SIX hours of this book. I didn't want it enough to sign up for a saga. The first book was 11 HOURS long!! I didn't check the length of the other books.

Also, don't get me started on how hateful his mother was to him, and how useless and enabling his father was in the situation. I knew I wouldn't be able to stand that through three books.

It is not often that I don't finish a book, but here it is. I'm just glad the book was in Audible Escape and I didn't put down a chunk of money for it. Maybe it would have been better if I had read these books first. I dont think so, but anything is possible. Maybe I am just at a place where the all of the negativity in this book is too much for me considering the current environment in which we find ourselves. My recommendation would be to try it and form your own opinion. Maybe I will try the ebook. I can read faster than I can listen.

Not a fan of the narration/writing

The female narrator actually sounded like Siri from time to time, especially when she was reading the male parts.

The writing seemed a bit juvenile. It was hard to get through. Although this is a cliff hanger, I’m really not sure I can listen to the second book...
