About this listen

The ritual proved successful, granting Ed a miraculous escape from a dying world and an opportunity to start a new life. What he did not expect was that this vibrant new world would be filled with dangers waiting around every corner.

Barely giving him any time to adjust, fate dealt its cruel hand once more. Ed lost his family and landed in the clutches of their enemies. But could this really discourage a talented alchemist, who has already accomplished the impossible once before?

Having escaped, Ed got another chance at a normal life. He has to start from scratch, but this wouldn't pose a problem for someone who consistently defied the odds.

Ahead of him lies a new life in the capital, new friends and enemies, and a struggle to maintain his freedom. The abilities of a true alchemist are too powerful to escape the watchful eye of the authorities.

Will Ed be able to deal with the challenges, find balance, and finally live a normal life?

Second book is better than the first

Still a fun book with a clever idea. The text of the story still has some distracting moments where the translation is clunky and awkward or the author has word salad, but it is a fun listen. Narrator does a fantastic job considering the text issues. I am interested to see what happens to Edward, can he keep his secrets? Will his true enemies be revealed? I guess I will find out in the next book.

Good but a bit of cliché.

The alchemy in this book is the best representation of Western alchemy I have ever seen in any book. Hands-down, the author has captured the true estimate of Western alchemy. Unfortunately, the story is a bit lacking and filled with too many dumb clichés. These first two books in the series seem OK though this one at points seemed a little stupid. It is worth reading the next book so we will see how it goes.

Good one

while I enjoyed the book i do think the first book was better and honestly at some point I started rooting ffor roman instead of the mc because apparently the mc can go toe to toe with enemies far stronger than him but noble brats wipe the floor with him, like why?
