author hates context

everything needs more context. the characters relationships feel incomplete their just too trusting towards the main character and the main character takes it for granted even though in the first book he was so paranoid it took him getting angry and doing something stupid to make the plot continue... despite its flaws∆ this storyline has potential it's just incomplete without characters with flaws and development and a bunch of contextual information you are not given

Interesting style, generic substance

The author's style is interesting, leaving you just enough detail to have a story while your imagination fleshes out the rest. Unfortunately other than that it's pretty ok adventure.

This book got everything

I laughed, I cried, I even cheered...
It ran the whole gambit and I enjoyed every single moment I spent with this series.
My biggest complaint when listening to the books was the lack of recap between books, which isn't a problem now with this box set.
Alex writes big and the story makes you feel big as well... It's a ride like a Holywood movie and you got front row tickets.

Steve Campbell performed his heart out for this series, and it was his performance that brought me to tears, that make me laugh out loud and he deserves so much credit for elevating a already great series to a whole new level...
She would be proud of you my friend

Full disclosure: I received this book as a gift from the narrator, but I already owned the books in the series, so giving a honest review here isn't hard.

Missing some things

I've had a tough time finishing this. The idea is there, but the execution has been miserable. We follow our Mc through a hectic time for himself; go in save the girl is what's being hyped up, and it's going to be a struggle! they fly in and skip the situation, then fight the villain. It's as though I keep missing episodes in a decent show.
Another issue is while talking to a crowd of people, it devolves into a 5 person conversation and completely ignores the other 100+ folks around them.
Overall, Steve Campbell was the main reason I could continue listening, because his performance was top notch! like a good actor with a bad film.

Great story

I really liked this series. Glad it was sold as one set as the individual parts are way too short. Well written and narrated.
