About this listen

Fake romance shouldn’t feel this real....

Will: I've never been with a man.

Sure, I've thought about it. Wondered. Daydreamed. Imagined. But I wasn't ready to take the leap.

I have a reputation as a "ladies' man". No one has any idea how curious I am about men—not even my openly bi best friend. Make that former best friend. Michael ghosted me, and I have no idea why.

Michael: The man I love is straight.

It hurt like hell when I had to distance myself from Will. I’ve tried desperately to grow up and get over him, but my carefully constructed life just fell apart—and Will rushes to my rescue.

Now we’re pretending to be a couple to impress his boss at a holiday retreat. We’re holding hands and hugging.

We’re sharing a bed.

And Will just kissed me.

Is my best friend falling in love with me after all?

The Christmas Leap by Keira Andrews is a Christmas romance featuring friends to lovers, bi awakening, first times, and of course a happy ending. This stand-alone novel takes place in the same universe as The Christmas Deal.

Another great one

Keira Andrews has done it again. The Christmas Leap was a sweet and steamy story. Greg Boudreaux did a great job with the narration as usual. He really brought this book to life

So Happy!!

I loved this audiobook! This is my first from this author and definitely won’t be the last! Not only is the story itself addicting but the narration is on point! I missed a few phone calls while listening because I couldn’t make myself pause it—perfect!!

Finally recognizing what’s right in front of you

I loved Michael and Will’s best friends to lovers, fake relationship, forced proximity, bi-awakening story. It is smart funny and wildly appealing delicious perfection. The story is full of swoons, laughs, drama, sweet moments, strong families, supportive friends, sexy times, painful pasts, and love. Michael has been in love with his straight best friend, Will, for years. Attempting to get over him, Michael ghosts him for two years. But after an unexpected painful breakup and a car breakdown, Michael calls Will for help and .Will picks him up on the way to his company’s retreat. A misunderstanding has them sharing a bed and in a fake relationship as they fast track the journey to their HEA. The path to get to their HEA is so painfully beautiful and you will feel all the things along the way. Expect to laugh, to cry, to swoon, to grit your teeth, to roll your eyes, to gasp, and to cheer. Most of all, expect to fall in love with Will and Michael.

Greg Boudreaux did a phenomenal job narrating the story and breathing life into the characters and the story with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly. I especially loved her narration in Will’s Scottish accent.

Frustration off and on

There is a lot to like about this book, and Greg Boudreaux is an excellent narrator. I just keep losing patience with Michael. He is so insecure that he fails to communicate his thoughts and feelings at times people who genuinely like one another would have shared. His second guessing and insecurities make the story drag on and on and on and….
So there’s still and hour left and Michael is getting ready to sabotage the tentative love between himself and Will, his bff from college. Will is open and ready to take their relationship further, but as a newly awakened “bi” he’s depending on Michael to help guide the way. Sigh….
I generally like Kiera Andrews books very much, but I’m actually not able to stomach Michael another minute.
I’ll take a break then go back and finish when I’m not feeling so frustrated.

A Perfect Holiday Read!

The Christmas Leap by Keira Andrews was a great listen. The main characters, Will and Michael, were enjoyable. Michael has been in love with Will for years, but he is trying to get over him, so he has been avoiding him, yet they run into each other again when Michael's car breaks down. Their run-in leads to Michael pretending to be Will's fake boyfriend for his work. Will is oblivious to Michael's love for him, but he is attracted to men. This audiobook had the theme of whether they would or wouldn't be together. Will was frustrating at times, he was so oblivious to Michael's feelings, but I suppose Michael could have communicated more. Michael deals with a lot of emotional pain pretending to be Will's fake boyfriend, but I'm glad they worked it out. Will and Michael made a cute couple. The narrator, Greg Boudreaux, did a great job narrating. I would recommend this book! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Gorgeous narration

Absolutely delightful, fun, friends to lovers/fake boyfriends holiday tale. bonus points for a very well done Scottish accent and demi-sexual rep.

A Wonderfully Delightful Story & Listen🎧

This is a heartwarming and wonderfully delightful holiday romance, one you can enjoy any time of the year. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Michael was looking forward to spending his first Christmas with Jared, his live-in boyfriend, left work early to surprise him with their first Christmas tree, but the surprise was on him after overhearing Jared’s conversation and learning how he felt and what his intentions were. So their first Christmas together would never happen and now Michael needs to figure things out, including finding a place to live. Trying to clear his mind, he takes a drive, but since it has not been his luckiest of days, his car dies and the wait for a tow truck is hours long. Going thru his phone, he calls an old friend, Will, one he has been thinking about, thankfully he picks up and says he will go pick him up even though he did not ask him to. I adored these two guys, and it was great to watch them reconnect and rekindle their friendship. Will brought him to his work event and his boss assumes they were a couple and asked Michael to roll with it. These two were great together and for each other, even just as friends, Michael feels more for Will but nothing will happen since Will is straight, or is he? I loved how everything played out in this friends to lovers romance, it is a beautifully plotted story with a perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and steam. Kiera Andrews, thank you for another fabulously enjoyable story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kiera Andrews chose the perfect narrator to bring her characters and story to life. Greg Boudreaux is a wonderfully talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. He has a complete understanding of the characters he is portraying and gives each a voice that fits that character’s persona to a tee, accent, and all. I love how he takes each role, runs with it and makes it his own, sounding believable and just as I picture they would sound. You could hear how much heart he puts into his work as he captures the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. He set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease, landing the humor effortlessly. Boudreaux is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Fantastic! Loved It!

I loved this book. The premise sucked me right in, but it was the characters that stole my heart. I felt so bad for Michael, not merely because he was blindsided by a breakup during Christmas, but because you could see how much of himself he was willing to compromise and settle for less than what he wanted just to make a relationship work and get over his feelings for his straight best friend.

Let me say I also liked that Michael's ex was not a jerk or a cheater. He was similar to Michael in that the relationship was also not giving him what he needed and he didn't want to settle for less than what made him happy despite caring for Michael and not wanting to hurt him. I'm more used to the horrible ex in romances, so this was a nice change.

I absolutely fell in love with Will (and his sexy accent was a beautiful bonus!). He was so kind and sweet. He never understood why his best friend ghosted him for years, but a sudden call from Michael when his car broke down on the side of the road prompted him to immediately stop what he was doing and go to his aid regardless of the lost time and somewhat bitter/hurt feelings for him was such a testament to the type of person he was and how much he still cared. I loved seeing them reconnect and the chemistry between them. I also loved the fake relationship trope and bi-awakening trope, which are my favorites.

The narration was fantastic! This is the first I've heard of Greg Boudreaux, but he has talent! I found his voice charming, soothing, and loved the accents. As much as I loved the story itself, it was elevated so much by Greg's performance and I will definitely be looking for more of his readings!
