Come to find out, cortisol can get way out of balance and cause women all sorts of problems.--weight gain, sluggishness, stress, and inflammation. Because cortisol is generated by stress, there are very practical tips for reducing stress in your life. I practice de-stressing breathing, and was glad to see different breathing exercises included. There is a lot of information in this book, but there's also action steps you can easily take to bring your body back into balance, journal prompts, and recipes for healthy foods that help reduce cortisol. All very practical. I've come away wanting to make detoxing a habitual behaviour.
