About this listen

Kara is given a choice: die or become a god.

Summoned to a world ruled by a game-like system, Kara is offered a power that lies beyond it. A power given by a dying dragon. A power that predates the system. A power wielded only by the gods.

To become the last wielder of a dragonsoul.

She accepts, but her path to godhood does not begin easy. Finding herself lost in the monster-infested Xor-In Mountains, she is pursued by a powerful being who seems to know about her origins. To make matters worse, a mysterious calamity is sweeping over the region, wiping out every settlement she finds before she even arrives. She isn't deterred, despite these obstacles in her journey. Instead, she finds herself befriending monsters and adapting to this harsh magical environment.

Kara finds herself thriving.

Until eventually, she finds refuge amongst the strange inhabitants of the Sanctuary City of Alyona. Despite its name, it is not nearly as safe as it appears to be...

However, even though there are still seven stages of ascension for her to undergo, she will complete her apotheosis by any means necessary.

And Kara will become a god.

The best story is now in audiobook!

Kara is now in audiobook, and it's amazing!

I have to say, the narration is amazing, and much like in Salvos, Tess Irondale delivers here too. So if you enjoyed the Salvos audiobooks I'm sure you'll enjoy this one! Seriously, it's good!

Now onto the story!

It's uniquely fun and memorable. It has a lot of depth, whether it is trauma, the fabled emotions or good old character development. But do not let this fool you! Much like other stories in the genre, it's full of exciting moments with incredible action. Whether it is OP MC moments with amazing payoff, or Weak to Strong satisfaction, it's all there! And the MC has draconic powers that are incredibly cool!

As for the characters, worldbuilding or even the MC Kara? Well, they're all amazing, I have no complaints. They all feel real and fantastical.

So in short: Kara as a story is awesome, it's unique and it also retains the awesomeness of prog fantasy with badass dragon powers.

I can't recommend it enough, and for anyone that finds the synopsis or this review interesting, I highly suggest to give it a try!

Meh

Meh, not what I was looking for, fell like the story fell a little flat. The narration was decent though
