About this listen

Adventurers never die, they just fade away.

They called him Sven, the Shatterfist. One of a group of heroes who fought the Demon Lord Mannon. He's finally returned home.

But for Sven, after returning from abroad, life isn't what it used to be. Adventuring isn't what it used to be. Things have changed. Something is different.

The obvious next step? Retire. Settle down. Start his own tavern. Drink with magic girls.

Maybe not in that order.

Overall a good story and I thought miss Klein did the story justice. a couple of things I hope to see work on for the next book but overall I'd call this a win

i enjoyed this

Amazing story ruined by copy paste audio. He chopped with his......."broadsword".... a ......"enchanted arrow".... shot past. Excellent story but the audio was angering.

Copy paste

as I said in the title this is a slow burn and there's some things that make this audio painful (broad sword) but once you get past the first part story picks up and makes you want to get the second book you just got to make it through the first part

this is a slow burn

I need to start by say the narrator was good. The problem is that they must have paid her by the word. It’s horrible editing and whenever the story calls for a weapon or skill, there is a pause before a dubbed word is added. It’s little but very annoying.

Way to cheap out on a recording

The storyline for the book is amazing. And everything would be 5 star accept for one issue I have. The narrator says the names of attacks, and items used in the story in an extreme deadpanned voice. It breaks the immersion of the story in a jarring way. The voices of the characters used is fantastic. Just that one issue I have. I do recommend this story. Even though it's a short story at only around 5 hours long. It draws you in deeper and deeper as the chapters roll on. Definitely worth the purchase or credit.

Good story

I was not expecting anything that happened in this book. But none the less this is a perfect example of a slow life novel with an amazing story and is sure to never bore you....oh and the twist.....s are good.

I very much enjoyed the story in general, but the narration left something to be desired. For the most part it was something I could listen to with ease as the narrator's voice is Pleasant. However, she keeps on pausing and emphasizing every single time she says the name of something like special item or double handed broadsword or anything like that to join with the equipment it's annoying as hell.

Good but annoying

The overall story is fine, it’s just that the narrator keeps adding brief but noticeable pauses between what I assume are Skills or Items in the book. For example, within the first couple minutes the narrator is like “She fired the …Arrow and the …Arrow it the hydra’s eye.” It wouldn’t be so bad if this wasn’t happening in literally every other sentence.

Narrator stopping and starting kind of ruins it.

So great concept but the way the reader pauses for items and other words is just to annoying to continue listening to the book.

Can I get my.....money.....back???
