'Once in a while I read a series that reminds me of just why I love enemies to lovers, slow burn, and morally grey characters so much. Gods and Monsters is that series. This is perfection. Amber Nicole's Dianna is the FMC of my soul' NISHA J. TULI

Don't miss this second addictive instalment in the Gods & Monsters series from BookTok sensation, Amber V. Nicole!

WHERE THERE ARE GODS, THERE ARE ALSO MONSTERS . . .

When I burn this world to embers, and you paint me as the villain, remember,
I really did try to be good . . . once.

Dianna is hellbent on revenge. As the last shred of her humanity is ripped from her, she decides to embrace her monstrous side and set the worlds alight.

Samkiel alone refuses to believe that she has become the monster that everyone else sees, and he'll do anything in his power to save her from herself, even if it means losing her.

With every realm now at risk from Kaden's army, and a myriad of new threats on the horizon, Samkiel can't afford to let his guard down. And as Dianna's thirst for blood only increases, he is running out of time to save them both . . .
Don't miss the first book in this series, THE BOOK OF AZRAEL and look out for THE DAWN OF THE CURSED QUEEN . . .

'Amber's series breaks the rules in the best way. Her main character is strong, capable, and unapologetically powerful. There is no damsel here. This story is filled with fast-paced action, an in-depth world, and a romance that goes from simmer to boil. If you like romantasy, read this!' RAVEN KENNEDY

'A wicked ride from beginning to heart shattering end. Leaving me literally screaming for more. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to get more our morally corrupt heroine who you can't help but root for, along with the giggle inducing banter between her and the heroic god Samkiel' HANNAH NICOLE MAERHER

Good

It was a good read, just wish they hadn’t spent so much time trying to get Diana

Morally gray characters

Love this series, at times it felt a little repetitive but I overall really enjoyed it.

It’s a longass book and even longer when you dislike the narrator.

3.5 ⭐️s and that’s being generous bc I want this story to succeed in the long run, dang it. I have a thing about the middle child in a trilogy being the true test of a writers ability and AVN did not persevere. This was so unnecessarily long and I am bummed this author has fell into the trap of loving her characters too much to make reasonable editing choices. We know there are a lot of big feels and yaaay friendship and saaad betrayal, but for the love of your readers, why did there need to be so much internal monologuing and why did we need to bring in the POVs of more characters? It just felt like there could have been a more concise way to get us through this journey. I also read the 1st book instead of listening to it so maybe I missed this quirk the first time by simply skipping over the boring shit. Who knows at this point because it took me like 3 weeks to finish this when I finished book 1 in 2 days.

I also really dislike this narrator. She reads for a few other series I like and I’m always annoyed with her voice. She ages women who are supposed to be youthful and her performance of Samkiel was about as thrilling as watching paint dry. She lacks the ability to land jokes through her performance. Just bleh.

Plot thicker than your grandma’s lasagna

The character development, foreshadowing, twists and turns make this book one of my favorites. If you’re looking for a thoroughly exciting and gut wrenching page turner that you cannot predict, The Throne of Broken Gods will not disappoint. I hope you’ll be as excited as I am to charge into the next book in the Gods and Monsters series.

Shed alot of tears

I really love this series. This book was gut wrenching though. Most books don’t drive me to tears but this one did, more than once. I enjoyed many aspects of the book with very few dislikes. The most negative part for me was the nickname she gave him. It just felt weird to throw it in there especially after he was initially Liam then reverted back to his true name, now she makes a nick name of Sammy 🥴 no thanks but everything else was awesome. I can’t wait for the next book to release! I am so grateful the audiobook is coming out the same day as the ebook because waiting months after the release really sucks!

Shook!

The last few chapters Ahh! When I tell you this broke me!!! It’s taken me a long time to read these books, and I am so glad I finally did. The action , the banter its top tier! I can’t wait for next month when the 3rd installment comes out. I love these characters. The narrator did a good job! If you have ACOTAR/FW hang over read this series!

What an ending!!

The build up to the twists was amazing!! Love the development of the hand and the side romances. Can’t wait for the third book!

Long and kinda slow

I enjoyed the first book but I found this book to be too long and go with long periods of boring conversations. I did read the third book which is a lot better. This book is basically building the plot, so it’s slow but necessary. Personally I think hours could be cut out but in the end I really like this series.

Another great one

Narrator made it kind of hard to distinguish between characters & it took away from the story at times - there are many POVs. This listing would have been amazing with dual female/male narrators. This one was kind of painful.

Better and worse than the 1st book.

There were parts of this book that were better than the first and parts that were not.

It probably could have been about 100 pages shorter. I appreciate character development that moves at a more realistic pace but some of the events were repetitive and didn’t move the development forward until the plot caught up.

Still enjoyed this book. Strong female lead with realistic morally gray leanings. Don’t get me wrong there were moments that were over emotional but I really connected with these characters.

Loved to see the different POVs.

Spice was high but only in the last quarter of the book. As a pro-smut reader it would have been nice to maybe explore other side characters romance a little more.
