Publisher's summary

Decades ago, the world was changed by the arrival of the system.

One day, monsters spawned across the world, gateways to dungeons appeared everywhere, and the blue screens heralded the end of days. The apocalypse. The ruin of the world.

Amongst the ruins of the world, they survive: the players, those granted power by the system and led by the 2nd regressor, the King of the Crows.

He who mastered the system, learned the truth of the apocalypse, and seized the keys of absolute authority. But even a King cannot stop the fall of mankind.

No power is absolute. An end is eventual. The final calamity and coming of disaster.

To fight against the overwhelming power of a mad god, the mark of the regressor will be passed on.

Jax Nolan is picked as the successor, the man destined to go back to the beginning. Back to the start of the apocalypse and the advent of the system...and become the hero of the story.

Blue screen.

Way too much blue screen explanations. Probably spent close to three hours, listening to descriptions of skills.

An amazingly well written story! Must read!

Wolfe Locke and Mike Caliban did it again with Third Apocalypse! Wolfe has never let me down with any of his solo or collab novels and this one is no exception. The book ties into the world of Genesis Game, Tower of Ruin, Skeletal Champion, and Dungeon of the Old Gods. No requirement to read them all but the total world is amazing! Well written, a good story and plot place, and well thought out characters. I look forward to the next book and the entire trilogy! Audio Version: Jonathan John's did an amazing job with this title as usual. He really brings the characters and total story to life!

good book like where this is going?

overall, it's a very good story. My only two negatives, and they're extremely minor is the actual time travel with a little slow to start. start it took about 2 or 3 hours for him to actually time travel. thus the rest of the story didn't get as much time. and a slight pronunciation issue with the narrator not enough for me to knock down stars however

Worth a credit but is the next one?

First part was a bit hard to relate to since it was action and things were happening without you knowing anything about it. It gets better and has a progression I am enjoying. My only problem is I will not spend a credit on a book under 8hrs listening time. Trust me the longer the better for each book. So when you eventually combine the books. I will purchase the rest of the story. Less than 7hrs is guaranteed to never get my credit. Thank you for the start of an interesting tale.

Solid addition to the Universe

This book stands well enough on its own, but where it really shines is if you have knowledge of the universe!! I love the idea of Jax having to navigate such a dog eat dog world.

Worth the credit

Spoilers ahead

Just like the title says, worth the credit. The performance was five star. The story of the other hand I could only give a 4.

Starting spoilers now

Every other character in the book seems to be oblivious to the main characters actions. If one day the world was turned on its head and some random guy came out of nowhere with all this information… I would be a little more cautious. But they are just brushed off and they seem to accept any explanation, no matter how poorly thought through.

Other than some slight plot holes it’s a good book. I can see it going for many more.

Like I said, it’s worth the credit.

Much less formulaic than a lot of the time travel LitRPG stories

The characters are engaging and the world is described well enough to get a vivid mental picture of many of the locations. With a lot of similar stories I have trouble with suspension of disbelief or find the characters very samey, that isn’t the case for this story

Good story

The story is good. The narration takes some time to get used to, but once you do it is not too bad. The only thing that annoyed me was that human beings are portrayed as being very cowardly and sometimes the actions of the masses of players in the last quest are illogical.

Great Story!

Listening Speed: 1.6

I am a big fan of the LitRPG genre and really enjoyed this book! Some of my favorites in the genre are Dungeon Crawler Carl and He Who Fights with Monsters. This book has the potential to reach great heights!
