About this listen

Can a single promise change the world?

Even with the Crimson Alliance formed, Rowanheath taken, and Carrera dispatched, the onslaught never ends for Abby Hollander. Keeping the Spider Queen in check and handling water provisions was never what Abby wanted to do with her life, but it’s what the war demands of her.

To add to that never-ending list of demands, suddenly Naitee Mungal has need of Abby as well, and unfortunately, Abby already promised she would answer if Naitee called. Now Abby will have to go where no Traveler has ever been allowed before, face a series of grueling trials, and battle the gods themselves, risking everything to return balance and save her magical brethren.

If she fails, the realm of Gaia could once again be overrun by the power of the elements. If she succeeds, she'll become the greatest Firebrand in all of Eldgard.

From James A. Hunter - author of Viridian Gate Online, Rogue Dungeon, Bibliomancer, and the Yancy Lazarus series - and best-selling author J.D. Astra comes an epic new entry into the Expanded Universe of Viridian Gate Online that you won't want to put down!

Featured Article: Level up with 25+ awesome litRPGs

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

Well this was a certainly a good book. There’s not much I can say without spoilers, but it jumps to more things that I love and so I like it more than the previous books.
Each of the books and series has something different to enjoy, there are particular aspects that I enjoy more than others due to my personal biases. As I’ve said before it’s the theological discussions, as well as the presence of gods and demigods, aspects and overminds. This book has more so I liked it more than the previous two books, as well as being even farther away from the original series which I got a little tired with in the first Firebrand book of course.
I think that the author has been able to take this fully fledged charecter from the main series and expand her into being independent and great on her own, which really reminds me of comics more than novels. In series like Spider-Man or Batman, where side charecters are introduced and then expanded upon by other authors over time.
This is the last firebrand book I have access too, but i don’t know if it’s the last there is. It could go either way, honestly, as the story is tied up in a bow but also has clear ways to profess either id the author wanted to.

I have to admit that I didn't quite enjoy this one as much as the others, but I still enjoyed it. There's not enough Otto for me in the other VGO books, and of course I love the relationship between him and Abby, so this book scratches that itch. I also love witnessing Abby get more powerful (and there's some kick ass powers in this one) and this is a nice capper to her Firebrand quest... but it is just one quest. One very long quest. VGO for life!!

One Loooong Quest

Once I figured out that this was the girl from the 1st book I read in the series I said oh and the 3rd book I'm glad she got her stuff together on to the others!!!!!

Good Ending

This was good. And also a nice further development of Abbie's character, as well as of the world. But I'm done with the side quests for a while. I won't pre-order the next one, as I have with all of the previous books. Unless it advances the main story that all of these side-quests refer to. Then I'm fully on board.

No more side-quests please

I'm my opinion this is a well thought out story arch and plot. With well developed characters through out the story...

I think all the VGO books are good in their own way. they show diversity of cast through the storyline. some are not as strong but others really stick out. this book was enjoyable. A little too much of the same information, but at least it shows her own adventures. can't wait for the next VGO book

I great addition to the storyline
