Publisher's summary

Why do some men struggle to feel love, or for that matter, feel any emotions? It is because they are emotionally undeveloped. They lack the skills and resources needed to emotionally connect on a deeper level. And this leaves them with an unfulfilled void and their loved ones feeling empty, alone and frustrated.

Many men have a low emotional IQ, and this is especially true for those who deal with addictive behaviors. A low emotional IQ prevents men from

  • Bonding with others
  • Understanding what they feel
  • Expressing their emotions
  • Dealing with others' emotions
  • Engaging in social settings
  • Knowing what to say

This book is for men who feel like they are on the outside looking in when they see others engaging in meaningful conversation. It is for those who experience little joy in life and feel like they are existing instead of living. And for those who may turn to addictive behaviors to feel something. This book explains why this happened but, more importantly, how to correct it.

This book is also for women who are frustrated with their relationships or have been betrayed. It provides critical insights to help you better understand why your mate struggles to:

  • Emotionally engage.
  • Be empathic.
  • Engage with others and prefers to isolate..
  • Be curious about family members.
  • Control anger and/or mood swings.
  • Make or keep friends.
  • Manage impulsive behavior.
  • Have interests.
  • To be content

Why Men Struggle to Love outlines the 14 relational blind spots that prevent men from acknowledging their emotions. These blind spots are the result of limited nurturing during critical stages in a man's childhood development. This book explains how missed opportunities to learn to attune to others; be vulnerable; provide empathy, and regulate moods results in men who struggle to love.

If you or your partner struggle to emotionally engage, this book will open your eyes regarding the root of the problem, while providing you with real solutions.

Excellent, Well Written, and Informative Guide

I really appreciate Dr. Eddie's perspective. I was able to put words to so many behaviors that I've struggled to comprehend/name. I hope this will have a profound impact in my marriage. I would love to have a pdf resource that puts some of the lists in a easy to reference format, along with the titles of other books recommended throughout.

I understand the jist of this book

I understand this book but it wasn’t something for me. False pretense of us behaving in certain way is possibly some type of disorder. Or because certain stuff happened in our childhood has caused us to behave a certain way or so things the way we do them. Majority of the book talked about people struggling with porn addiction where I don’t suffer from anything of that nature. I was raised in a proper way at home as described in the book. I thoroughly read my Bible and lead my family in a way. After reading this book, Because I don’t like people or going to hang out leaves me to believe I have a personality disorder or because I like to have sex with my wife and become frustrated when we don’t, i have a sex addiction. I understand the books purpose but I don’t think it was for me.
