Publisher's summary
He left KoRn to help himself. He went back to help others. And along the way, he nearly lost everything.
A life-changing spiritual awakening freed Brian "Head" Welch from a stranglehold of drugs and alcohol and prompted him to leave the highly successful nu-metal band KoRn in 2005. What followed was a decade-long trial by fire, from the perils of fathering a teen lost in depression and self-mutilation to the harsh realities of playing solo and surviving the shattering betrayal of a trusted friend. In this intensely inspiring redemption saga, perhaps most inspiring is Brian's radical decision to rejoin KoRn and reconcile with the tribe of people he once considered family in the metal music scene.
Brian returned to his musical roots with a clear head and a devoted heart. Though his story is wild, hilarious, and deeply poignant, the message is simple: God will love you into the freedom of being yourself as long as you keep the relationship going and never, ever quit.

For the first time, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor speaks directly to his fans and shares his worldview about life as a sinner. And Taylor knows how to sin. As a small-town hero in the early '90s, he threw himself into a fierce-drinking, drug-abusing, hard-loving, live-for-the-moment life. Soon Taylor's music exploded, and he found himself rich, wanted, and on the road. His new and ever-more-extreme lifestyle had an unexpected effect, however; for the first time, he began to actively think about what it meant to sin.

Whether it's people's rude behavior in restaurants and malls, the many indignities of air travel, eye-searingly terrible fashion choices, dangerously clueless drivers, and - most of all - the sorry state of much modern music, Taylor's humor and insight cover civil society's seeming decline.

Mike's gripping narrative transports listeners from his small-town tavern with its colorful cast of "regulars" to Mexico and a drug deal gone awry. From Las Vegas casinos, where Mike won and lost fortunes as a professional gambler, to a jail-cell beatdown. From failed rehabs to his 20-year marriage, an ideal union decimated by addiction. And finally, to the redemption of the most shameful moment of his life.

He examines the way America sees itself, specifically with regard to the propaganda surrounding America's origins (like a heavy-metal Howard Zinn) while also celebrating the quirks and behavior that make a true-blue American.

RAW, REAL TRUTH
I loved this audio book. It's the second audio of Brian's that I've listened to this year. The passion and love in his voice gives this book even more life.. I love how real and honest he is about his story. His vulnerability is what will set people free.
It also opened my eyes even more to broken people. How God loves and pursues ALL of us. I remember when I was not a Christian, my teen daughter coming home with her first Korn CD. I broke it and threw it in the trash and cursed them. Ha! Look at who just spoke life to me... Brian Welch, of Korn. I am now a Christian and attend Fuse Church in Knoxville, Tn. I've heard amazing things about Brian since I first met Jesus. Evidently, he has visited my church a few times and has friends there. He's the real deal.
Thank you, Brian, for opening my eyes. I love your story. Angee

another winner from head!!!
another winner from head!!! I loved this update from his first book. amazing things keep happening to head through Jesus Christ. i love how Head takes the Gospel into places many Christians wouldn't dare go.

Great message
I love a great transformation story and this sis not disappoint. Brian's transparency and willingness to "go and be Christ's love" to the world is an inspiration.

Beautiful!
Praise Jesus! A breath of fresh air of a testimony of the power of Christ working in Brian’s life, his family’s and his friends. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn of it, as I walk with Jesus myself. It certainly has encouraged me and built up my faith in my faithful Lord and Savior, who is so deeply and lovingly committed to all of us. Simply beautiful!
