Discover the seven immutable laws of pleasure and master the art of truly enjoying life!

In this groundbreaking book, Jia Gottlieb, MD, dispels 2,000 years of shared shame, guilt, and ignorance to reclaim pleasure as the ultimate guide to a beautiful and fulfilling life. Drawing on penetrating insights from history, cutting-edge neuroscience, and spiritual wisdom, he provides the knowledge and tools to transform your life by working with your human nature rather than against it, to live from love rather than fear.

"This is one of the most important books you will ever read. Panoramic in scope and deep in wisdom, it is nothing less than a blueprint for a great life and our collective survival. In plain language, physician Jia Gottlieb plumbs the meaning of pleasure and pain to reach a vision of interdependence among all living things and their environment, where love, compassion, and balance are key: a crucial message for our time." (Larry Dossey, MD, author of One Mind)

"aah... exhale when you say it and dive into the mystery of the present moment with our longtime friend, Dr. Jia. This rich offering of yogic wisdom, science, and practical philosophy is presented in a refreshingly personal and effective way. Please study this book again and again. Please research and study all of the teachers and books that are mentioned within." (Richard Freeman, author of The Mirror of Yoga and The Art of Vinyasa)

"This masterpiece is a clarion call to reinstate Pleasure - and her various faces of beauty, truth, and freedom - as our essential compass, not just for achieving our own excellence and enlightenment, but for navigating the next stage of our human evolution." (Lorraine Moller, winner of 16 international marathons, Olympic medalist, and author of On the Wings of Mercury)

This book will change not only how you think about pleasure, but how you experience it and live your life.

We're desensitized to pleasure

This an important work for anyone desensitized to natural pleasure, or, disenchanted with artificial ones. I found listening to it not only a pleasure but a joy. Jia Gottlieb’s aah… The Pleasure Book is a potent draft of ageless wisdom and up to date knowledge for optimizing our pleasure potential at all levels.

This book makes an appeal for uncoupling the natural urges from mediating influences of guilt and shame and unmasks countless ways both very old and new influences compete to hijack these natural instincts and inclinations for the purpose of manipulation and control. It shines light on the chemistry and the machinery under our own skin. It frames the quest for pleasure as an endowment that has beneficially guided our physical and spiritual evolution since the beginning.

The way it’s chapters are aligned helped me highlight the optimum balance point, along a continuum between pleasure and its opposing states in my own present day life and showed me how to increase the pleasure in my work, play, relationships and cosmic connection. As a career physician, lifetime athlete and meditator, the author trains our thought processes on his subject’s multi-facets with a comprehensive digest of knowledge and practice, for stabilizing one’s body, mind and spirit in the sweet spot of authentic pleasure.
