Publisher's summary

Welcome to the thrilling conclusion of Robert W. Ross' award-winning Sentinels of Creation series.

For the past seven years, Kellan Caufield Thorne has been caught up in a celestial power play of epic proportions. The final act began in an Atlanta alley by forever removing the scales from Kellan’s eyes to reveal a world of Creation, Destruction, gods, angels, demons, and Mantles. Now the last scene begins to unfold as God’s unchecked hand on the world must traverse a perilous and narrow path if he has any hope of saving our universe from Perditor, the very incarnation of destruction.

Join Kellan, Shannon, and their allies as the Sentinel and his Soulborn wife cross oceans of time to meet five Mantles of immense power. Duty, War, Honor, Sacrifice, and Justice each have a gift to bestow, but only if Kellan can complete the trials they will set before him. At the beginning of time, these five were entrusted with a fragment of God’s one true name.

If Kellan can prove himself worthy, each fragment will be inscribed deep within the Sentinel’s heart. Should he complete all five of the Mantles’ trials, Kellan’s heart will contain unimaginable power, but such power can only be used at an equally unimaginable cost.

Old loyalties and covenants begin to shift or shatter as Perditor extends his influence into our world, corrupting some, and enticing others. The Sentinel of Order has been transformed by by trials, tribulations, friendships, and love. He has been honed by the whetstone of adversity, tempered by a burden of chaos, and quenched in the love of a Soulborn.

As the end of all things approaches, the universe holds its breath, waiting to see if Kellan Thorne is prepared to offer a final sacrifice.

It has been a journey!

Loved it and it has a wonderful bow on the whole series. This arc may be done but the characters aren't done by a long shot I'd bet anything.

A Wonderful Ride

I tried the series out at a whim a few years back and was hooked after book one.
This is a worthy end to such an enjoyable tale.

Amazing Series

This entire series had me hooked. The main downside is with the end of this novel, it feels as if I am saying goodbye to a group of close friends. One of the best, most creative takes on urban fantasy...I'll tell ya that fer nuthin!

Excellent Series!

I absolutely loved this book series. The series was one of the most entertaining I’ve read. I laughed, I cried, and I was captivated by every word written and narrated by Nick Podehl.

Damn you and making me cry

The title doesn’t encompass the feelings and how wrapped up one is with the story and all the characters. No spoilers, but when those that die do so, I shed some tears over the emotional value and the overall nature of how and why. Well played sir well played.

Epic Series

Robert W. Ross knew when to end a series. He left me wanting more, but happy with I got. Sometimes, authors don’t go out on a high note, and you are left with a once-loved character that you end up in a sad played-out relationship with. I chose this series specifically because Nick Podehl narrates it. Nick proves that you don’t need to sound like James Earl Jones to make a story interesting. I can’t say enough good about the series. I can’t wait to start the next Nick Podehl series. I hope this duo teams up again.

Ties up the story neatly

This has been a really fun 7 book series to listen to. Nick Podehl is a solid narrator, with good easily distinguishable voices and great pathos for the drama and sorrow parts of these books embody.

The Final Sacrifice was hard to listen to in parts, not because it was poorly written or narrated, but because I have come to love these characters so much that it was hard to hear them suffer the way they do in this book. The title really says it all, and I was so upset during the climactic chapters that I actually reached out to the author on social media, raging through my tears. He encouraged me to keep reading and I’m glad I did.

In the end, he ties up the loose ends really nicely. I’m looking forward to any short stories he publishes in this world, but for now I feel like if I never hear from Kellan and his crew again, they’re in a good place and I have confidence they have overcome their greatest challenge so I can be content.

This series is well worth picking up and reading/listening to start to finish.

Now THAT is how you end a series!!

Sentinels of Creation is my favorite series. Nothing else even comes close, and this ending is like the final note on a classical masterpiece.

You might be asking, "Sara aren't you being a little over the top?" To that I would answer, "No I am not."

I started listening to SoC in 2020. For me, it was a fun escape amidst the unpleasantness that was 2020. I binged the first two books then forced myself to slow down a little because Robert promised the seventh, and last, book of the series would come out in 2022. I didn't want to run out of story too early.

What started out as escapism became an intellectual tour de force. These characters are so real to me now. They have opened my mind to new possibilities, and isn’t that what most authors can only dream of doing? Well, Mr. Ross, kudos, sir. You have done it.

This book made me laugh out loud, cheer, and weep uncontrollably—twice. I imagine most people who read this review are already true fans of SoC, but if you just happened upon it, stop right now and get the first book. I promise, you won’t be sorry.

Finally, Robert Ross, I know from your author’s notes that you sometimes read these reviews. If you read mine, please know that your books have touched my heart and that of many family and friends. Thank you so much. One request, please promise to write the book of short stories so we can take another ride with Kellan, Shannon, and the rest of the gang. I miss them already.

God a finesser fasho!!!

Loved the whole series. Can’t wait to see how Kellan is involved with Captain Omandis crew.

I loved the development of all characters involved in the story, I really liked how the 5 mantles were born knowing a piece of the creators name. Each trial had to do with Agape and what that means in the grander scheme of things.

What will you live for, die for, kill for? And which ones death was the final sacrifice though?

Will the energy of destruction have its own vessel in Paradigm? So many questions yo!!! Big fan!!

Love & Light to anyone reading this debating on whether or not to finish the series. Hurry up and download it bruh and Nick Podehl a GOAT in this game!!
