Hi, police wife! Thank you so much for being here. I was in a place of loneliness and resentment as a police wife for many years. My husband and I kept having the same argument over and over: “You’re never home.” I fought against his job rather than accepting it and addressing issues that I had control over. Once I accepted the realities of police life and took care of myself, embraced my independence, and planned for myself and my children, my loneliness and resentment stopped. I found out how to be a happy police wife and how to deal with being a police wife. I truly believe that you can become happy as well by taking A SIP (Acceptance + Self-Care + Independence + and Planning for You = Happy Wife), which is the formula that this book covers.

I, Kristen Linton, MSW, PhD, a police wife for 8 years, a professionally trained social worker, and am now a university professor, created this guide. I have used my personal experience, Brofenbrenner's ecological systems theory, mindfulness, and backward planning to create this guide.

A beautiful balance

Heartwarming and realistic advice that hits home!
we struggled early on in our dating relationship and problems seemed to amplify after we were married. It took time and a whole lot of patience but we came out even stronger. This talks about a lot of the struggles we faced. Dr Linton let's you know you are not alone. More importantly though Dr Linton helps you succeed.
