About this listen

Amber had married her boss for all the right reasons, no passion to break her heart, no love to risk and lose. She never imagined she'd be the one demanding more, yearning to feel things she vowed she would never risk again.©1986 Jayne Ann Krentz

Critic reviews

"If there is one thing you can depend on, it is the humor, passion, and excitement of a Jayne Ann Krentz novel." (Romantic Times)

This is a pleasant little story and the reader is unobtrusive, but some of the bedroom language just made me roll my eyes and do a mental edit to something less laughable. Perhaps the style of the passionate dialog is simply dated; thankfully, the rest of the story holds up. The hero is calm and sedate, but he's not a boring pushover; his inner strength is profound and he doesn't require outward displays to validate himself. The heroine is a wounded dove, but the hero doesn’t try to “fix” her. Instead, he exercises patience and restraint until she’s ready to conquer the self-delusions formed in her past. This isn’t great literature, but it’s an amusing diversion, and a nice way to cleanse the palette from heavy doses of modern bad boy alpha males.

it's a short book and as such is missing a lot. not a bad story just not well developed because it is so short.

not her best by far

I liked this book because the plot started from the beginning and things moved quickly. I liked the relationship the 2 characters have - they respect one another, etc. The story was funny, yet had just enough romance (and a little suspense). For a quick read - Between The Lines delivers.

What there was of it was fine but they left out the entire subplot of her previous boyfriend and Graysons
previous life as a security expert. They removed most of the interpersonal tension. They need to offer the original.

Too abridged
