About this listen
In an audiobook that challenges everything you thought you knew, W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne assert that tomorrow's leading companies will succeed, not by battling their rivals for market share in the bloody "red ocean" of a shrinking profit pool, but by creating "blue oceans" of untapped new market spaces ripe for growth.
Based on a study of 150 strategic moves, spanning more than 100 years and 30 industries, they provide a systematic approach that every company can use to render rivals obsolete and unleash new demand:

Story
A business parable about how to create a start-up that won't trap you when you want to sell it. According to John Warrillow, the number one mistake entrepreneurs make is to build a business that relies too heavily on them. Thus, when the time comes to sell, buyers aren't confident that the company-even if it's profitable-can stand on its own. To illustrate this, Warrillow introduces us to a fictional small business owner named Alex who is struggling to sell his advertising agency.

As venture capitalist Alexandre Lazarow shows in this insightful and instructive book, this Silicon Valley "gospel" is due for a refresh - and it comes from what he calls the "frontier", the growing constellation of startup ecosystems, outside of the Valley and other major economic centers, that now stretches across the globe. The frontier is a truly different world where startups often must cope with political or economic instability and lack of infrastructure, and where there might be little or no access to angel investors, venture capitalists, or experienced employee pools.

Worth reading
This book is a the first book that introduced the new market strategy. The book is old but it is worth reading (listening) I really appreciate the first part from the book. I don't like the second half. I was struggling listening to it. Still the book is worth listening to. I really don't like the narrator voice.

Important but Dull
The material covered in this book is important and helpful in growth strategy. However, most of the overall concept is covered in the first section of the book. After that the book becomes so monotonous. The detail is very specific. For the business analyst or post grad student this would be great reference material. Reading the book cover to cover is painful. The narrator does a good job, considering the material.

Great Book, Horrible Narrator
The content is excellent. The narrator puts you to sleep, even with compelling content. This book would have been much better served with a personality behind the reading.

Not bad listening material
It is worth listening to, and makes sense, as long as that sense is applied...

this was hard to listen too
you better focus! Big words and big idea. Flat delivery. it demands attention of you want to digest it. don't try to multitask.

Great business book
As an entrepreneur I find this to be one of the most valuable business books, because it teaches you to look at your business from outside of the "Red ocean" day by day competition work and move into a more innovative mindset.
Totally recommend to all entrepreneurs.
