About this listen

One crumbling house. One exploded truck. And two people who think they can't stand each other.

Arden Weathers. She's a girl on a mission, and that mission most certainly doesn't involve Brody Blastoviak, the hometown hottie who made her college prospects go boom six years ago.

Brody Blastoviak. He knows better than to stick his you-know-what into crazy. So why is he losing his cookies over Arden Weathers, the uptight chemistry partner who "accidentally" torched his truck back in high school?

Now, older and wiser, these former classmates are supposedly on the same team - working to restore a crumbling beach house that both of them want to claim as their own. Too bad for Arden, Brody holds not just the deed, but all of the cards and clout, too.

She's a broke college graduate, while Brody is not only hotter than ever but obnoxiously rich and famous, thanks to Blast Tools, a rags-to-riches brotherly venture. It's all so stupidly unfair, especially when Arden makes an appalling discovery. Turns out, she's not nearly as immune to her enemy's charms as she thought.

And Brody? Let's just say, this tool-toting billionaire is reluctantly learning that the girl of his nightmares just might be the girl of his dreams.

This enemies-to-lovers romance is a fun, full-length billionaire romantic comedy with a guaranteed happily-ever-after!

A steamy enemies to lovers romance

I was trigger happy and excited to listen to this one especially since I love a good enemies to lovers romance

I liked the fun and playful bater between Arden and Brody.
They were sweet together and the chemistry between them was intense and palpable.

I was rooting for them to get together from the very beginning.

The storyline was creative and engaging and the characters were likeable, relatable and well sketched out.

The narrators were apt and performed an amazing audio delivery and narration.

Will definitely be relistening to this one again

Boom

Perfection! There really is no other way to describe this book. It had me laughing and screaming when they started acting stupid through he whole book which is what makes it so great. I was so invested in these characters and wanting them to find their happy endings that I was cheering for them all the way until the end. I can’t wait to see which brother falls next in this series!

Bringing a Story to Life!

What starts out as one kind of chemistry gone wrong and another BOOM of epic proportions, then that leads to a whole other kind of chemistry when Brody and Arden come face to face after being not so much friends in high school. Brody and his brothers came from nothing and created an empire. Starting a tool company, that turns into a home improvement business and eventually one of the hottest shows on TV. The story is told in past and present, and as always Sabrina gives us amazing attention to detail. this book is fun, and romantic with some great characters. I love the banter that goes on. Of course we get drama and misunderstandings that send Arden running and Brody chasing. Stephanie and Connor did a great job bringing life into these characters.

Mixed Review

Title: Boom
Author: Sabrina Stark
Format: Audio
Narrators: Stephanie Rose, Connor Brown
Genre: Romance, Romantic Comedy, Enemies to Lovers, Reality TV, Home Improvement
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Blast Brother # 1
POV: Arden and Brody
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy but not very explicit
3.5/5

I'm of mixed mind about this book. It's slow and plodding and I didn't really connect with either character. Arden and Brody's lack of communication (both in verbalizing and listening) despite the numerous amount of "why" throughout got to be annoying and I was glad that Sabrina Stark actually had Arden realize that maybe she should have asked something straight out rather than expecting Brody to "admit" to something. Both of them were cagey and immature and frustrating. Sabrina Stark did a good job of showing a spark between them but the execution was lacking. I wasn't really rooting for them to succeed. I'm glad I listened until the end though since both characters pulled their heads out of the sand - finally but they still had work. This is supposed to be a romantic comedy but I didn't laugh very much.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession and Pink Flamingo Productions. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Wow wow wow!!

I absolutely love enemy to lovers books they always hook me in and this book was no different! Brody and Ardens story had so many twist and turns and misunderstandings between the two I couldn’t put it down! I should have been sleeping instead I stayed up all night listening to the book. This is a must read and I cannot wait to read the rest of the brothers stories too!

Boom

Boom is the first book in the Blast Brothers series. This book is told from dual points of view from Arden Weathers and Brody Blastoviak. They were former classmates in high school and something happened between them that change the course of both of their lives, and they each blamed each other.

Now six years later she is on a mission to get her grandparent's house back. She learns that Brody bought it to fix it up for his tv show he and his brothers host. One of the main people who do the show offered Arden a job as a consultant on the house.

Through out the book it sometimes goes back to the past so we can see what happened between the two and why they hate each other. We learn a lot about each character, and how they thought the other's life was different than what it really was like.

They start to have feelings for each other, but then the past comes back up. Can they learn each other's pasts and learn to forgive the other. Or will it tear them apart for good?

I really enjoyed the first story in the series, and can't wait to listen to the next brother's story.

BOOM!!! That's how it is done!!

I’ll give it to you real... I struggled here for the first quarter. I was so angry at Brody that I was adamant I wasn’t going to like him at all. You know, on Arden’s behalf and all that. Any man, or person at that, should be tarred and feathered... strung up for taking away what Brody took away from Arden. But I soon realized it wasn‘t on purpose. Sometimes crappy things happen to good people. The situation that made them enemies was one of those things no one wanted to happen but, it did and here we are... Brody and Arden need a magic eraser! Since that isn’t available, they have some work to do! Thankfully these two have some mad chemistry and you can only fight that for so long.

The narration by Connor Brown and Stephanie Rose was perfect. This audiobook had a ton of spice and fight, some anger and a whole lotta sexual tension. Both Brown and Rose handled the ups and downs of this audio with a skill and ease of seasoned professionals. Rose specifically did a great job showing her pure disgust while battling that growing attraction.

I loved it!

This was my first Sabrina Stark's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Blast Brothers Series, a billionaire romantic comedy. Brody and Arden's story is fun, cute, sweet, and sexy. They share an undeniable chemistry. I like their banter. Some scenes are hilarious! This is a great enemies to lovers, filled with angst, miscommunication, and misunderstandings. The back and forth from past to present is well done, and easy to follow. The supporting characters are great and interesting. The other Blast Brothers are intriguing, and I can't wait to know more about Mason and Chase. Connor Brown and Stephanie Rose did a great job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to Bang, Mason's story, the next book in the Series.

4.5 Stars

This was the first book I've read/listened to by Sabrina Stark. I often do not like RomCom, but this was a true exception. Okay, there were times I rolled my eyes, was completely frustrated with the lack of communication, and I think the sentences were written in short, choppy dialog. Since I do not have the book I'm unsure about that. BUT I could not pause the audio and was completely frustrated when there were interruptions. I laughed (out loud), groaned, and cried big tears ready to bawl crying. I LOVED this audiobook!

Stephanie Rose and Conner Brown are excellent narrators! Their voices are easy to listen to for a long period of time. I truly think the short, choppy narration was the way it was written. It took me awhile to get accustomed to it, but was soon pull into the story as it ran like a movie in my head.
