About this listen

Promises have been made, and promises will have to be kept.

After all the drama surrounding the invasion of the White Crane Hall, Seiki gave his word to Ippei that he’d join the War Games. So, when he hits level 14 and finally gets eligible for his first troops, Seiki gets ready to face the Demonic Clan and begin his climb up the military ranks.

But before he can claim his unit from the Shogun, Seiki has one last promise to fulfill. Together with the whole band, he has to clear Nezumi Temple - aka the rat dungeon - in order to secure a rare armguard for Yamura as a thank you for saving their neck back at the siege. However, the drop rate for the item could be as low as 4%. And after running the instance for close to 20 times, they’re all starting to wonder whether the darn piece even exists....

Awesome, can't wait for the next!

I love this series. The story is great, the characters are fun and engaging. The world makes you want to play this game for real so badly. The action and dialogue are perfectly balanced and the story just keeps getting better. I do not want this series to ever end!

Ok

Good enough to get but it’s starting to all run together. I think it needs more heart.

as was expected

being the third of the series, not much to say that aren't spoilers, so just know this is just like the previous books in all the best ways possible :)

My favorite LitRPG series

Main character growth and story arch is awesome. Seki gets more awesome abilities to help his friends and take down raid bosses.

The War Games bit was awesome. Makes me wish they made BO into a real game.

good story.

I actually really enjoy this book series so far. I love playing MMOs but to not have the time to invest in them. Reading this let's me vicariously play.

That being said there are a few things that bug me about the wording used, as well as other things. for example the book uses the term "lock out" for ability cooldowns. I have played games for a while and have never heard it called anything but a cooldown. I have even checked with my friend group, and they have never heard it called anything but a cooldown.

Yes I know this is a minor thing. it does however show that the author did not really do basic research in to MMO gaming. the little stuff is what makes the diffrence between great and good stories.

Another thing is how slow on the uptake the veteran gamers are is this story. There are game mechanics that are common in modern games that the characters treat as if they have never heard about.

Amazing story along with detailed characters

I love this series. the mc is believable and not OP or just stumbles into winning his fights. he uses real life experiences and thinks through his actions. I like that over other litrpgs that just have their mc do things without telling us why. even worse is having a mc that just gets by with plot armor. The MC for this series is a down to earth newb who has taken his time to learn the game and apply his knowledge to it. this series is amazing and I look forward to the 4th book

As great as the previous one. Can’t wait until another one in the series. Narration was perfect too.

Another Great entry

Loved this series. Really wish it would be made into an mmo. love all the character arcs and interactions. not a fan of troop/resource management aspects of it but that played an insignificant role in the story overall.
