About this listen

Raised in the small town of Wushan, Linley is a scion of the Baruch clan, the clan of the once-legendary Dragonblood Warriors. Their fame once shook the world, but the clan is now so decrepit that even the heirlooms of the clan have been sold off. Their prospects seem dire...and yet, perhaps some power still remains within the veins of the clan. Dragons do not easily die, and neither do the dragonblooded.

Come witness a new legend in the making. The legend of Linley Baruch.

This is the first of eight fantasy novels comprising the translation of the seminal 'Coiling Dragon Saga' by famous Chinese author Wo Chi Xi Hong Shi, originally hosted on www.wuxiaworld.com. This authorized translation was created by Ren Woxing and published by Wuxiaworld Limited.

The story and translation were both really good, and I really enjoyed listening to this story, but the reader consistently mispronounced so many words that it was distracting, and the enunciation is a bit garbled/lazy. Unless the actual translation has the english word that sounds similar to another but is the wrong word, it is likely the reader's fault on that end.

All that being said, I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next one, especially given the ending!

Great Wuxia story, mediocre performance.

It is amazing story that touch’s that heart of any man of a son bringing honor back to his clan. Truly a beautiful story, the only thing I wished was for male reader to read the story out load.

Excellent! This purchase was accidental but I have no regrets. This is an amazingly crafted series and I can’t wait for the next book.

Epic!

The narrator slurs and corrects the words as she says them. It takes away from what is an awesome story.

Awesome story, terrible performance.

It's honestly excellent, especially considering it's a translation.

The narrator starts off pretty bad but I warm up to her after a few hours. By the middle of the book I've figured out her idiosyncrasies and it's fine still not spectacular but not horrific.

Changing to more skilled narrator or just one who is more used to xianxia might be a good idea but i will still get the next book even if it is this same narrator

Excellent save for mediocre narration

Love this series. Has an actually honorable protagonist, great story development (at least for me), and cute Bebe and even sculpting.

Narrator I actually enjoyed a lot. The sound effects, laughter and other touches breathed life into the story for me. Her voice sounds cute, and lightens the heavy story setting. There were some mispronunciations I noticed, but pretty rare.

I would buy the other books if she narrated them. Wish these were all on audible.

It is a struggle to lison to this reading, should not have been posted as is. When your the readers voice overpowers the book you are reading it makes for a poor experience. Instead of the immersen I've found so many times in this great series I only found myself disappointed.

disappointed

the story itself is amazing. I have no complaints about the story. my full complaints is the narrarator. she rushes thru the reading killing most of the story's mood. she mispronounces words left and right. seems like no editing is done at all, she stumbles on words and it is not corrected. I'm sure they used a new narrarator but man its almost bad enough to make me return the book if the story wasn't so dam good.

Story is great

Story: Great story, interesting, and without a doubt a worth a credit.

Performance: First few chapters is pretty bad and should either be edited or entirely redone. As it goes on the narration does get smoother, but there are some spots they tripped up on words that should have been edited out.

Translation: Great. There are some weird ways it goes about saying things sometimes, but you can't ever really ask for a perfect translation.

Overall: Definitely worth the money.

Great book. Narration could use some editing.
