speed. . no . . but its ok.

if you call your book speed run through the multiverse. . . I expect a fast paced book. it's was kinda that. . but at the start of this book his time to beat was something like 540+ years. . . . this book takes place over a period of 3 weeks or so.
so it's not a bad book but it makes the wrong promises at the start of the book and for me at least that loses points.

Good story good characters

this series up to book 3 was good (4 isn't out yet) I like the world building the characters are diverse the only thing I dislike is the Mc's power and personality in the first 2 seem a little of like bro was trying to speed run but didn't skip all the cut scenes also he knows how to handle people but not enough to become friends even if it's just to manipulate

It's good, but..

I liked it, it's just that I am having trouble reconciling the way he acts, if speed is everything, as he keeps saying. Then some of the choices he did, seemed weird to me. Sometimes someone matters, then they don't. He says no to offers that will greatly increase his speed at least surface level. The character feels a little inconsistent,

I kept expecting him to see the errors of his ways due to some reason out of his control. And start forging bonds, helping those around him. Due to some of the choices he made, so there would be some kind of redemption for his character.

Since he never did I don't know why the break in character was added in the story. Still going to get the next book as I devour books regularly for background noise and the narrator did good. The overall story arc wasn't that interesting, not that much humor either so it looks like it's really just about getting to the end fast, and no deeper stuff.

Main Character is too Uncaring to others

I like the premise of this book. However, the presentation of important facts was done poorly. I'll go ahead and explain myself. But I'm going to add a spoiler alert in case anyone would be annoyed at learning these early and prefer to listen to these elements in the way the author intended.

*** SPOILER ALERT ****

So as the book starts you just have the impression that he's a god living in a new body and that he wants to grow quickly.

For me, the fact that He is a God who is basically creating new mortal bodies "alt characters" that he's leveling till they "ascend" to Godhood isn't very clear in the beginning of the book. Its hinted at, but not really well defined. Its slowly led to you a bit at a time.

In the Description of the book (and the intro of the book itself) explaining that he's a god who is reincarnated. But it doesn't really give you the explanation, that he's just leveling an alt that he really doesn't care about. In fact if the "alt" dies, he'll just move on to the next one which is no big deal to him. That he's just leveling this alt as fast as he can to move on to the next one. This is the whole premise for "speed running the multiverse". I feel if this had been better explained in the Book Description or at the beginning of the book, I'd have enjoyed it far more.

Without this perspective, it made it hard for me to understand the main character and see why he makes the choices he does.

With this perspective, you can understand why the main character does what he does. It's like a kid playing a MMORPG game who doesn't have the ability to empathize or even care about the "friends" he makes in the game. Instead, He is just using them to get to his next milestone. I consider this type of behavior horrible in a game. In the setting of a real world where there are actual people involved and real lives affected, I think its beyond horrible behavior.

This makes it hard for me to listen to and really ruined the whole experience of the story. I have a very difficult time liking the main character.

If you take that element out of the book it was an outstanding book in all other aspects.

The narrator did an excellent job.

Awesome take on cultivation

Really like the cultivation details. It was fun watching Dorian get stronger. The characters were interesting and acted mostly reasonable. I also like how detached Dorian was and how that effected him and people around him. If you were an all powerful god you wouldn't care about someones sister or tribe you were using to spring board back into godhood. It took a bit to get used to but made sense in the story. As a reader you have a bit of an attachment to IO's family and tribe and so Dorian's coldness can be off putting at first but I thought it was a nice detail. And I look forward to Dorian growing a bit in this sense as the story continues. Favorite character has to be Fate.

Good stuff

Different twist, all want to see the MC struggle a bit, but be a bit wiser and have more insight then the rest. I like this approach tbh, I also understand why some people don’t like this story, the MC doesn’t really like to have a bond with people, not even blood related.

Idk why people are giving it bad reviews

The negative reviews almost put me off but I decided to give it a shot and it was really good. Yeah the main character is cold, but I think the story does a good job of revealing why he’s like this.

The pace and story was good but I do have a question for someone who did a lot of runs he does make a lot of noob mistakes but I guess if he did not then it won’t be stuff to read

Very fun take on cultivation

In most cultivation novels the main character slowly learns more and more about their powers and the power system, but our main character innately knows everything already, so the story becomes about how he races up the power scale. Very much enjoyed this, and the narration was solid.
