Imagine how you would feel when people are cheering, applauding and saying "wow" after your presentation.

What if a few secrets could help you give a speech where an audience member comes and says, "I felt you were just talking to me?"

Boring

Did not like it or gain anything from it,
save your money unless you have no sense of humor at like Janet Reno

Greta info and break down

I liked how the information given was taken into steps through the chapters. I learnt how easy it is to put humor in your speeches.

Class material

I felt like I needed a pen & paper , he's very knowledgeable but not something you can learn & remember in a car ride!

Good advice, but he lacks a bit of delivery

A bit boring, but some good tips is presented. Hard to believe he is a good speaker from hearing how he speaks, but he knows quite a lot of the subject.

Useful tips I plan to use

Very useful tips that I plan to use in my upcoming talks. I found the information to be quite dense and the narration a little fast. In a way that shows the value but found I had to listen to it twice.

Decent tips at the end, but where's the funny?

I kept waiting to hear the speech they were dissecting but it never came. And while the tips are good (if not pretty basic), the examples became repetitive. I just didn't find it funny. Good narrating though.

Highly Recommended

The reader was superb, really connecting w the topic and had great delivery. The author seems to really know his stuff; he's a pro. He knows how to both Show and Tell the art and science of humor in storytelling. He cares about the topic and his audience. I felt like he wrote this for us, not for his own ego needs. It was fun and funny, concise and practical. He gives just enough theory for us to understand the "why", then majors on the steps/takeaways for his audience.
I would recommend this to all my pastor friends who want to be better, more enjoyable story tellers. And note what the author makes clear: this is not a book to help you become a stand-up comedian (though he generously cites good books for that purpose); it's a book for public speakers who want to add more humor and storytelling to their speeches. I look forward to re-reading/re-listening to this one. Suggestion: I got the kindle version too and found it helpful since Ramakrishna lays out numerous steps and formulas you need to see to track with. I wish it was whisper sync enabled.

Good presentation, but needed better performance

The organization of the book was good, but I would've preferred each example presented first, and then analysis. Lastly, the speakers voice sounded a bit robotic, and delivered too fast, but the concepts introduced were helpful. Needed more vocal variety. Overall I'm glad that I bought it, and will listen to it again.

Thank you. I took away lots of great information.

I enjoyed listening to your stories. Being a student of public speaking I took a lot away from this book.
