About this listen

Life entails inevitable challenges. To surmount these battles, we each seek for various mechanisms. This particular audiobook on dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is developed for those who are struggling with borderline personality disorder (BPD), depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders. It will also be a great resource for those who have loved ones beset by the same issues.

  • Mindfulness: no longer living life in your absence; increasing self-awareness
  • Interpersonal effectiveness: actively interacting with others and managing conflicts
  • Emotion regulation: discerning, describing, and regulating emotions
  • Distress tolerance: coping strategies for distressing crises

good information. hard format to digest in an audiobook. it had a lot of lists. would be better to read or at least take notes

good info

the content may have been beneficial, but it was so hard hard to decifer when the speaker was changing topics, pausing for periods or other grammatical pauses- it literally went from word to word with no break. Almost like a robot. which is the last thing you need when trying to emotionally/ professionally navigate the issue at hand.

decent content, poor reading

This presentation of DBT is a high level outline of broad concepts and organizational themes. But it does not provide sufficient detail to allow the reader to engage with the subject matter, and it avoids the kinds of examples that would give the real gist of what DBT is all about.

Superficial overview does not do justice
