Publisher's summary
Do you suffer from chronic anxiety or despair?
Do you often struggle to find a sense of worth or escape negative thinking?
The reality is, people who have been repeatedly exposed to stressful situations may be more likely to develop complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD). But how does one overcome this?
In The Complex PTSD Recovery Guide, you will improve your physical and mental well-being by learning practical solutions adapted from the most successful therapy methods available.
Research shows that people who have experienced traumatic events can recover and go on to lead fulfilling lives. Through evidence-based strategies addressing the symptoms of complex PTSD, it is possible to deal with the wounds of your past and improve both your mental and physical health.
During my tenure as a therapist, I have seen many clients struggle through this unresolved pain, experiencing flashbacks that are both paralyzing and a hindrance to healing. I wrote The Complex PTSD Recovery Guide to allow others to both understand and heal from past trauma.
Inside, you will discover:
- How to identify complex PTSD symptoms
- How to rewrite your personal narrative to overcome negative self-perception
- How trauma dictates your inner narrative through thoughts and reactions
- Effective methods to conquer stressed-based fear
- How to improve your interpersonal relationships
- How to recognize and stop patterns of avoidance that hold you back
- Strategies for managing emotional triggers and dysregulation
- And so much more
The strategies and knowledge within this book will work for you even if you feel the wounds of your past are beyond repair.
Now is the time to take recovery into your own hands by applying the right strategies to assist in integrating constructive beliefs and patterns of behavior.

Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, one of the world’s foremost experts on trauma, has spent more than three decades working with survivors. In The Body Keeps the Score, he uses recent scientific advances to show how trauma literally reshapes both body and brain, compromising sufferers’ capacities for pleasure, engagement, self-control, and trust.

Story
The causes of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder range from severe neglect to monstrous abuse. Many survivors grew up in houses that were not homes-in families that were as loveless as orphanages and sometimes as dangerous. If you felt unwanted, unliked, rejected, hated, and/or despised for a lengthy portion of your childhood, trauma may be deeply engrained in your mind, soul, and body. This book is a practical guide to recovering from lingering childhood trauma. It is copiously illustrated with examples of the author's and his clients' journeys of recovering.

Drawing on her own research on incest, as well as a vast literature on combat veterans and victims of political terror, she shows surprising parallels between private horrors like child abuse and public horrors like war.

Story
Both our conscious and more deeply embedded fears act as saboteurs in our lives, influencing us to make "safe" choices and limiting our ability to live happy, fulfilling lives. But imagine if you could learn how to take control of your brain’s instinctive response to danger. In Life Unlocked, Harvard-trained psychiatrist Dr. Srinivasan Pillay draws from cutting-edge research in neuroscience to show you how to do just this: to move past fear and unlock the potential of your life.

Excellent workbook!
This book is, without a doubt, the finest thing that has happened to me since my therapist. I like how you go through things, and I think it may really help you address difficulties you've been avoiding. I would strongly suggest it.

I'm impressed with the way the book.
This book is essential listening for anybody living with PTSD or attempting to comprehend someone they know who has PTSD. This book was an eye-opening experience for me after years of therapy and medicines, and it helped me transform my whole perspective on life. It allowed me to reclaim my life, and I began to comprehend why I was thinking and responding the way I was. Finally, I'm starting to recognize myself. Even if PTSD has no direct impact on your life, it is a fascinating insight into the human person as a whole.

Essential information.
This is one of the most useful self-help books I've ever bought. This book is recommended for anyone dealing with PTSD or dysfunctional attachment patterns. It truly demonstrates a degree of comprehension of what it is and how to assist others recover from it. It is stated in a way that most people who suffer from this condition would find to be quite true.

Great resource and informative!
Straightforward instruction and self-help for C-PTSD that includes several various sorts of therapy alternatives as well as thought-provoking journaling parts! I also recommended this workbook to a family member, who was astounded by how eye opening it was to their own self and saw the need of cycle breaking. I really suggest it! Take use of the highlighter and jot down your thoughts and feelings! I strongly advise anyone wanting to escape the cycle of familial trauma to listen to this book.
