About this listen

Otherworldly invasions. Nuclear meltdowns converted to dark power. A quest assigned by the planet itself.

Three weeks ago the world started anew as buildings literally stood up, fearsome monsters materialized, and humanity’s way of life changed forever. Now, Rockland Barkclay must continue to protect his people from a new threat while dealing with internal issues that keep popping up. For instance, will he choose to heed the warning of his resurrected Ancestral Guide as she notices the edges of an ancient conspiracy?

Things take a turn for the worse thanks to a freshly awakened God - or was it the fearsome evolution of Earth's wildlife? Regardless of the cause, the group discovers something dark and twisted in the Atlantean System, invited by a recent unmanned nuclear catastrophe.

The apocalypse isn’t over; it’s just luring everyone into a false sense of security.

not as good as the first, still better than most

the story kind of drags and seems directionless as nothing really gets done, maybe too much was tried to be stuffed into the story. if more time was devoted to each "act" I think the story would have ended better with each idea being more developed.

Great story!

This book was way better than the first and I really liked that one but the repeat of the stat/skill sheet was constant and more than needed. This book did them very well and the world building was great. Finishing made me a little sad that another one wasn't ready yet, which lets me know how much I like a book. Great job to the narrator for another job well done!

Ok Litrpg

This is a vanilla telling of a basic Litrpg. Pretty obvious it’s a cash grab type series just getting exciting at the very end so I buy 2 & 3.

Amazing!

City building, leveling up, loss and gain, and a great plot all await readers in book 2. The narration is excellent which really adds to the overall feel of the book. overall, I highly recommend getting this book!

Not as good as Book 1, but a solid 3.5 story.

I loved book 1, fast paced with the feeling of dread as Rocky and all other humans were thrown into a world of monsters. Book 2 I didn't get the same emotions. Book 2 is more less about grinding skill level and building a hub on his lands he can't protect. Now Gaya created the Golems and monsters to wipe out sapien life. Book 2 she's trying to save humans with her champion Golems? I'm abit confused, maybe I have to go back and listen to Book 1 again. Rocky's territory has magic barries, advanced warning systems but can't warn against underground invaders? Stella who can hear small to large critters in caves, but couldn't hear a worm so big it took out 3000 people in an instance? The leveling didn't make since as the group struggled with level 9 sword arm, bone enchanted skeletons while devastating level 75 creatures throughout the book. Before the group went into the final chamber you think they would restock, but nope, let's fight the boss with depleted supplies.

Alright, enough of my rant. The story was slow at times but had more enjoyable moments than slow. If this book had a lesser narrator I don't think I would have finished it. With that said Luke Daniel's was the saving grace of book 2. Better narration than book 1 as Luke conveyed abit more humor in his lines. I'm looking forward to book 3 and which member won't be brought back choice.

good book

good book the mc has a bit of a weird voice but at the same time reminds me of someone I can't remember lol. not used to the author's taking out the swear words but found it to be refreshing and laugh at the word choice and know I can listen to this in the car with my kids present. overall definitely worth the listen and money well spent in my opinion!!!!!!!
