About this listen

One of the genre's favorite pairs returns in a classic fantasy short for both Riyria veterans and first-time readers.

Several years have passed since the war-weary mercenary Hadrian and cynical ex-assassin Royce joined forces to start their thieves-for-hire organization better known as Riyria. Things have gone well enough for the team as they do "jobs" for various nobles throughout Elan. Usually that means stealing something, but when a young heiress asks them to steal her…well, that's a first for the pair. All is not as it seems, but Royce is determined to get the bottom of what's actually going on. After all, he has his professional integrity at stake.

Originally released in the Blackguards anthology published by Ragnarok Publications, this is a standalone short story of 10,800 words. No prior knowledge of The Riyria Revelations or The Riyria Chronicles is required to enjoy it to its fullest, making this a perfect introduction for new readers or a chance for existing fans to spend a little more time with old friends.

Wolves, mystery, adventure.

This is the second short story I've listened to by Michael J. Sullivan. I enjoyed this story much better than the first one. I'd given the other story a 3. This one made me want to listen to the rest of the series.

A twist you didn't expect.

Funny in the begging & then the first unexpected twist.. It starts to get you wondering in suspense & that's where the second & biggest surprise hits & that makes you at least crack a smile if you don't end up laughing..

I'm just not sure what book comes next.. I didn't realize the jester was before this until I heard them say about their last job.. Audible needs to show the books in order when they are connected instead of making your customers try and figure it out on my own like I did.. I'm New to all this.. I normally just use my text to speech..

Perfect get away!

In this book we can learn those brilliant ideas that can leave marks in our mind. It is full of great ideas and learning about reality of life in terms of good manners despite of eagerness escaping of the life we having struggled. This is an honest duties of a person who has the great state of being complete. Not everything is just about the money it is about how we become more better than the value of money.

Intriguing story!

If you could sum up FREE: Professional Integrity (A Riyria Chronicles Tale) in three words, what would they be?

intriguing, mysterious, suspenseful

Have you listened to any of Tim Gerard Reynolds’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I listened to The Jester. I enjoyed this one the most because of the voices he used and his expressions.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My mind was constantly thinking about whether or not the author was going to trick me. Was everything really what it seemed to be?

Any additional comments?

This was a very intriguing story. As my husband and I listened to it, we both had our own assumptions of what was really going on.

Funny, smart and charming fantasy!

All the fun of playing D&D or AD&D! Interesting characters, good writing, and a thoughtful plot. The narrator is amazing. I'm hooked! Sign me up for more Riyria books.

Cute, quick read

Cute quick story. Don't know the series so missed a few inside jokes but still entertaining. The read was a little monotone at times and hard to distinguish some characters apart but clear. I think some of that has more to do with the quick story and not enough time to build a character for those of us not familiar with the story then the reader though.
