About this listen

History shapes those who travel through it.

Determined to save the antiques store she has inherited from ruin after the unexplained disappearance of her parents, Sarah Lester discovers a jumbled collection of vintage postcards that leads her on a journey through time.

Unprepared for the story the postcards weave about their reclusive former owner, Sarah’s life is thrown into disarray as she is transported to Victorian London, colonial New Zealand, and to the British Raj in 19th-century India.

Sarah’s journey through time could solve the mystery of her parents’ disappearance. But one impossible question remains: What will staying in the past do to her future?

Not entirely original but and interesting read.

As an Outlander fan from way nack I giive any time travel fiction at least a try. This one is good, though I am through the 1st of the series and have no clue as to whyand how our main character travels through time. Our heroine is likeable and capable on minute but sometimes seems like the most self involved individual ever. I havent decided if I will go on to the 2nd book. I want to know what happens, but not driven to find out.

Not for Children

Just wanted to let the listeners know that this book is rated R so parents should use discretion. That being said, I enjoyed the book. It was a fun listen. Now I'm hooked into the series! LOL!

Twisty!

I loved it! I assume some things will be ironed out in the sequels, so I’m not going to comment on loose ends. Thinking about some of the things that happened and the consequences after Sarah left makes me sad…like what happens after tea with the Rajah. But if you want to know what I’m talking about, you must read it yourself. xxx ;^)

A literary journey through Ancestry.com

Overall, an interesting story. If you are looking for historical accuracy, I’m not certain the dialogue in this book fits the bill, but that is certainly forgivable. The narration was adequate, with proper inflection, change in register, and accent to differentiate characters. Some exciting twists and turns keep the reader engaged but it wasn’t one of those books that I couldn’t put down. Just enough romance to keep the story on the right side compelling. Solid Read.

So creative!

There were some holes in the plot that could have been filled, but it’s such an entertaining story! Weaving threads thru time and personality was a lot of fun!

I get it

so yeah, it runs on a bit at times but I get it.
Sarah time travels like her parents.
She meets some shady characters and some chivalrous characters too.

she changed history by doing some of the things she does.
but whoever wrote they didn't understand or the story didn't tie together it did to me.

She wanted to be with her parents. The story ends with her mom. She finds her father and figures out how the objects work.

She made a son with a prince and the body she used to do it was clueless as to how she ended up pregnant.

She saved a prince, did NOT out her gay friend, paid off the parents store, saves a boy from an abusive father. The girl did a lot. I wanted her to accidentally push that brother but I think MAJ Brooke got him, or Native Americans.

Overall I absolutely enjoyed the story. It ran wordy at times. But good overall. Definitely about jumping in time.
