Publisher's summary

Attempting to conceal her “villainous” nature, a superpowered college student embarks on an unintentional road to infamy, in this sweet sequel.

Emily Wright was prepared to spend her first year on campus under the radar and out of sight, propelled by the force of her social anxiety. Fate, however, cursed her with the ability known as Sister Summoning. Revealed on Power Day—the annual event where people discover their superpowers—Emily’s new talent caused five “sisters” to suddenly pop into existence. And as if that weren’t enough, Emily found herself officially categorized as a villain.

Now known as the Boss, Emily must keep her “villainy” a secret while babysitting her supersiblings. Unpredictable and mischievous, yet devoted and helpful, the quintet menagerie of sisters—possessing the characteristics of a bear, an owl, and a trio of raccoons—will do anything to help Emily establish her Evil Empire.

Of course, Emily doesn’t want anything to do with evil, but she has a family to clothe, house, and feed. With the help of volunteer minion Sam, a psych major interested in studying Emily, the Boss takes over the local protection racket to earn some cash. With her no-evil-intent policy firmly established, Emily’s little sisters begrudgingly agree to defend the local businesses against criminals.

But word of the Boss’s gang is spreading among hero and villain alike, placing Emily squarely in the social media spotlight—and the crosshairs of some powerful enemies . . .

The second volume of the hit LitRPG fantasy series—with almost million views on Royal Road—now available on Audible and wherever ebooks are sold!

pretty good book

this book does a nice job of skirting around any trade marks lol. plus it's a bit of a wholesome adventure of a young girl who gets superpowers.

And the villain, I mean the hero, story continues!

Fluff was a breath of fresh air in the LitRPG genre and I was really excited by the mix of super-hero system and cute characters. I was looking forward to enjoying the second book in the series and oh did it deliver! The cast of characters has broadened yet the author has masterfully managed to give enough "screen time" for each character to sharpen up their personality, interests, and behavior, and Emma has done a great job giving a distinct voice to each of the girls.

Fluff is a fun story that you can enjoy by yourself or with kids, with cute characters that do their best in difficult situations and with a bit of luck they'll come out stronger, braver, and more adorable :)

I'm really enjoying the series.

The series as a whole is funny, light, and fast-paced. suitable for a wide range of audiences.

If you liked the first book, this just continues to build momentum, and you are almost guaranteed to like it to.

I want book 3!!! :-)

Cute, funny, clever, and twisted

I love the characters, their evolutions, and the potential for greatness all building up from the series beginning. The characters are cute in a distinctly villainous self-identifying way. I was enjoying the story and anticipating more and more until The Boss achieved success in taking over the city, but Ravensdagger threw in some major trouble in that development.

In essence it is going to be much harder to get to that kind of ending when the disposition of the girls is so unsubtle, so vocal, and so careless. How can they understand The Boss's objective if they escalate before they understand the world around them and before they even have a base to operate from. I feel like the early escalation in their reckless behavior was a mistake by the author that turns me off enough to make me want to write this review before finishing the book. I absolutely still want to finish the book, and the author's past writing suggests it will end well, but it is obviously going to have a character or logic focused compromise because of the unstable course set up early on.

The story is very family focused, but The Boss (Emily) is just not able to keep up with the management of all her responsibilities. Also, I've been to college. It is not uncommon to have little to no time between work and classes for anything else, but she seems to have more time in a week for "other" activities than I might in a month. She must have a part time schedule, apparently paid for by her parents. I think she needs to properly move into the new base and find a way to make it legal so it doesn't compromise her double life. She's right about the direction they need to go as villains, but she seems to foolishly not act until her group acts out instead. There is currently room for at least two or three more books, but some series seem to go on forever.

Want more!

As I got near the end of Fluff 2, I had to stop and search to see if there would more. I found RavensDagger's post on Royal Road saying that volume 3 would be forthcoming. I couldn't finish volume 2 until I knew. The characters are so fun and are developing nicely as the story progresses. The action and humor are interwoven in a really satisfying way. When things are calm, just about when you think that it will get too slow, everything all heats up and pushes you along like toast fired from a railgun. Thanks RavensDagger, stories like this lighten the load.
