About this listen

Sometimes it's not easy being a mutant thug.

The space station Belvaille, once the center of civilization, is nearly deserted because of the new government's policies. Hank makes do by working odd jobs, but he isn't sure how long those, or the city, can last.

However, there are still some people trying to scratch out a (dis)honest living on Belvaille. Hank concocts a plan to save the city: steal from the countless transports and freighters that pass through the System.

In the meantime, Hank falls in with a tough crowd of freedom fighters who seem determined to overthrow the government. The team goes on exceedingly dangerous assignments, with Hank taking the brunt of the danger.

As if things weren't bad enough, the Navy set up residence in the System, a powerful alien dignitary is scheduled to arrive, and Hank's absurdly-competent butler states that his robotic species may declare war on Hank's home.

It's up to Hank to fix the problems, find out who is doing what and why, and to try and earn a little cash in the process.

This series needs to be a tv show or a movie or something. It's too good to just be a book.

The newest story was just as good, just as Hank filled action and eating and misfortune as the others and still unique and original.

Good ole Hank!

There's few books that I enjoyed more than the Hard Luck Hank series. This may be the best one yet.

Best so far

this has to be one of the only books I have ever read that can literally make me laugh out loud it's a bit embarrassing to be listening to it in public and to suddenly burst out laughing but no there's nothing wrong with a good laugh now and then even if it's a little embarrassing

So funny!

*stolen paraphrase from Kevin's review on Amazon

Steve Campbell is story line is causing more than Hank's head to hurt, but as usual Steve Campbell pulls the reader through the complex dialog and stories to make strong points. I loved the justification of why the CCP, Colmerian Coalition Post Comerian, government makes so many rules, Classic! Hank slowly makes sense for the reader of the plot and sub plots.

A disturbing, strange, and happy read*

Seriously "You should eat vacuum suck face!!" If you don't find this series among the best written and read books out there for any genre.

It Does Not Get Better Than This Series

If you could sum up Hard Luck Hank: Robot Farts in three words, what would they be?

I'm NOT Fat

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I'm well into middle age and Campbell makes me laugh robustly every time. I don't cheer at sporting events. I don't wave my hands at church. In fact you won't typically know I'm even in the room. But Campbell makes me belly laugh just like the National Lampoon movies did back in the 70's.

Any additional comments?

Campbell is great at this genre. This isn't rocket science. Well, it has rockets and it has science - but they don't go together. And come on - it has "FARTS" right there in the title. If you can't appreciate that - this is not for you. Steer clear and go back to literature. this is meant to be light-hearted humor at it's best. Paraphrasing Hank - "Did she just call me fat with her dying breath? Who does that?"

Sci-Fi comedy at it's best.

I’m telling you, this series could be the next Harry Potter for adults if they put it to film!
I just love getting lost in Bellvaile!
