About this listen

Don’t just eat your veggies. Love to eat them - every day!

You know that vegetables are good for you, but you’re still struggling to eat them regularly. You would like to take better care of your health, but there’s always something standing in the way: little time for shopping and cooking, a lack of knowledge of what to eat, or your taste buds protesting the change.

Eating veggies doesn’t have to be hard, and you too can learn to love eating them every day. It all comes down to some simple, but powerful actions you can take today to transform your health.

Written by best-selling personal development author Martin Meadows, How to Eat More Vegetables is a concise guide to help you eat and enjoy more veggies. Advice described in the book includes:

  • Five techniques to get motivated to eat more vegetables (that have nothing to do with the “vegetables are good for you” argument).
  • What vegetables you should eat, divided into a low-return group of 13 vegetables and a top 20 high-return group (learn which veggies give you the best bang for your buck).
  • Eleven highly effective methods to eat vegetables every day (including 58 vegetable-rich alternatives to popular, less healthy foods).
  • How to enjoy the taste of vegetables (including three specific strategies to use every day).
  • Thirteen ways to prepare vegetables to grab and go (no more excuses that you can’t eat veggies because you’re rarely home).
  • Seven methods to avoid boredom when eating veggies (use them every day and you’ll keep things interesting forever).
  • Six ideas if you can’t afford to buy more vegetables (including a common excuse that shouldn’t hold you back).

Proper nutrition leads to more energy, better appearance, and mental performance. Manifest your devotion to your loved ones and to yourself by eating vegetables every day. You only stand to gain.

Helpful ideas

There are helpful ideas in this book, and they were presented in a way that does not make them seem dauntless to me. I will be able to try many of them out in order to be healthier.

Decent Summary

Much of this book is a summary of information you can get elsewhere on the web. However it puts all those recommendations in one place, and in audible form, so it certainly valuable for those who are looking for that.

Good book, although I think I prefer the kindle version

This is a solid book, but know what you are getting. It’s a primer on ways to incorporate more vegetables into your diet. There aren’t any recipes or anything like that, but the author does provide many ways to increase your vegetable consumption. My favorite take-away was the concept of striving to eat 1 pound of vegetables a day. I’ve read books that recommend eating a certain number of servings of veggies a day, or eating from multiple color groups of veggies, or starting each meal with vegetables. Somehow those all turn out to be too complex to track and maintain. Aiming for one pound a day is a simple way to do it, and so far has been working as a goal for me. Although I like the audio book, I think the kindle version is a better purchase as the book is heavily footnoted and those don’t transfer over to the audio book. Sometimes Martin hits on a topic that you wasn’t to delve more into and the footnotes make that easy to do.

3Cs(Crystal clear,Crisp,Catchy)

All of us know we need our vegies but most times we never know what we want and because of this end up falling prey to junkies. If you want a purpose to eat veggies the what are you waiting for ?Jump right in and let Matin and John get you in the best shape . P.S. The summaries in the end of each chapter is the best feature for me. Enjoy!

It's just a long list

If I wanted a list, I could have used Google. The first (maybe second) book on audible that I didn't finish.
