About this listen

What could be worse that getting stuck in a virtual world?

Instead of enjoying the game, I found myself trapped inside my character's dead body. Now the only way I can save myself is by procuring the Scroll of Rebirth. The problem is my chances of getting it are slim. I'm an undead: an outlaw with no friends, only fickle allies and plenty of enemies. Who are only waiting for their chance to strike.

My undead hangman character has to tread a razor's edge, with only the support of his fellow players preventing his imminent plunge into the abyss. But are they who they claim they are? In a game, there's nothing easier than assuming another person's identity.

Decent

This series is obviously translated and at points that becomes clear, overall the plot line can be a bit slow but does move along, over all interesting story and about middle of the road as far as litrpgs go.

Better than the first book!

This was a fun ride. I greatly enjoyed this book better than the first, mostly because the story progression seemed more meaningful, the characters became more well-defined, and we got a hint at what the overall end game of what the plot might be. The narrator is still the weakest part of this book - he's kind of too boring for this genre in my opinion - however it's not as bad as in the first book. You mostly notice it at its worst during high action scenes and dialogue. It's not bad enough though to not listen to the book - I still recommend this book.

The first book

The first book started off slowly, but I’m glad I kept listening. It just keeps getting better and better and I hope the trend continues in the third book. Great job to the author, and thanks to audible for including these in the membership.

Very enjoyable, plenty of fun twists, turns, and adventure. I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone who likes the lit rpg or game lit genre.

Perspective from an adult

Superior litrpg. Great storyline that captivated me for the first two books in the series. Rivaled the Titan of Greymore.

Good follow up

Like the first book I enjoyed this book. Only disappointing thing is that main character never really emotionally connects to his virtual world. I get it he is just trying to save himself in the “real world” but he never truely invests himself in the virtual world making it extremely hard for his readers to invest in the world either

why must I-5 book series be left at 2

the problem with this one is that according to Ramon from the lit RPG podcast this is only a two book series at this time hopefully that changes and this becomes a five or six book series it's good but it needs another narrator this just wasn't something suited for him and it took away from story you can also tell that the translation was a little rougher than usual and given that the two translators are superb at what they do this disappointed me can't wait for the next one to come out because I believe that this can be a better series Once the author commits to how many books he wants to do so he can flush everything out better than he was able to do in these two books

Love this series.

OMG! More please! I have bypassed this series for a long time. Now that I’ve started it, I can’t stop. This is really entertaining and interesting. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
