About this listen

The past tore them apart.

After a terrible accident took everything from Callie Stewart, enrolling at Blairwood University is supposed to be a chance at a new beginning.

Living his best life, Hayden Watson, star wide receiver for the Blairwood Ravens, is heading straight for the NFL draft, and nothing is going to stand in his way.

The present brings them together.

Their paths were never supposed to cross, but when they do, all those old demons and feelings come rushing back. Hayden thinks he knows all about Callie's life before Blairwood, and he's not ready to let go of the past, much less forgive her for what she has done three years ago.

One thing's for sure...it's going to take more than a kiss to conquer their broken past.

Contains mature themes.

Callie is a new student at Blairwood University, she wants to start a new life and move on with her life but it's easier to said it then done.

Hayden is the star wide receiver for the Blairwood Ravens who lives his best life with his roommates, and who doesn’t get attached to girls, he only hooks up.

Callie and Hayden weren’t supposed to be at the same university and see each other, but when they do it will resurfacing old wounds…

My thoughts 💖
I loved the way the author describes Callie powerful and painful story. It was intense and heartbreaking it made my heart hurt for her.
Hayden was also well described, he’s a strong and gorgeous man, but when it come to Callie his feelings are torn.

I was captivated by this story, it was intense and all the emotions I felt was incredible. What I also adored was the friendship. I found it in every of Anna B. Doe's books and it’s always a massive bonus. It add something fun and really cool in every books.

This series is so perfect and I can't wait to read the next book.

I’m in love with Troy Duran's voice ... I loved hearing this whole story, the duo narration with Raquel Beattie was really good.

The two characters can't deny their incredible chemistry, even if they shared a painful past. It was so amazing to "watch them" turning around one another. I've freaking love every single minutes of this story and let's be honest here, Troy Duran's voice was a masterpiece for this book.

I highly recommend it.

Definitely a book worth listening to. A few glassy eyes. Never thought the ending would be a cliff hanger.

Few tears

I enjoyed the story in the beginning and the direction it was looking like it was going to go. The heat and tension between the MCs was amazing and giving the enemies to lovers vibe. I was even liking the story after the two MCs got together even though it did feel like it slowed way down. I just figured we were gonna start diving into her nightmares and trauma and the hurtles of all of that. But after that everything felt flat and kind of rushed.

I just got this feeling like there needed to be more about the accident and the trauma. She just seemed better after not talking to anyone for three years. Then around chapter 50 is when the ex boyfriend comes in and old bully to MMC and he puts a kink in things causing trouble. Which is fine but it was really towards the end end of the book, so them working through it felt very very rushed. We get a chapter of her upset and the world is over and then by the end of the book they back together cause she decided.

I loved it for what it could be but struggled with it cause of just some small minor things.

I hope you enjoy it and love it. That my reasons for not fully loving it are your reasons for absolutely loving it.

Also the narrators did absolutely amazing!!!!

Hayden and Callie’s story will definitely take you from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other. It drew me in and kept me intrigued. I thought the situations and characters were very believable. I especially identified with Callie’s physical challenges because I was born with a disability, and although she acquired hers later on, it was good to see physical differences represented and addressed.

Raquel Beattie is a new narrator for me and I enjoyed her interpretation of the characters and the plot. Troy Duran is my go-to male narrator and as usual, he was great here, perfect pitch every time!

I loved the introduction of Nixon and Yasmin’s story in the epilogue and am excited to hear book two in the series!

One important note: My overall rating of this book is four stars because of some very awkward phrases throughout the story, and they pulled me out of action more than once. For instance, instead of saying “Here goes nothing” when doing something that took extra fortitude, a character says “Here comes nothing.” That’s an expression I’ve never heard; and to “enter inside a room” is redundant. To say you enter a room is sufficient. Granted, these are relatively minor issues in the grand scheme of things, but when you become so invested in a book, they do matter.

Very Engaging, Emotional Tale
