About this listen

Danny Youngblood thought he knew the dangers of monster summoning. But when a mysterious desert civilization, the Sapiens, launches a devastating attack on the Empire, he discovers a threat far greater than anything he's ever faced.

As the Sapiens close in on the Imperial City, Danny and his friends must race against time to uncover the secrets behind their advanced weapons and powerful monsters. With the help of the brilliant inventor Isa, they develop new strategies and powerful summons to combat the invading force. But the deeper they delve into the mystery, the more they realize that the Sapiens' power is connected to the very essence of monster summoning itself.

Can Danny master his unique abilities and protect the Empire from destruction? Or will the secrets of the Sapiens' power prove too much for him to handle?

The near infinite versatility of being a summoner is severely underutilized and I don't think that will get better. still hate the Stone Golum choice. but the characters are cool and the world building took another step forward since the previous books. was it worth the credit. probably not. it's a nice burner book while waiting for favorites to come out

Solid book in the series.

This is the third book in a series, which has been published. The action is great and you are following along as the lead character is leveling up. I can’t wait for the next book. I love how the character is able to save the day as he is discovering more magic and how to use his powers wisely. I highly recommend this book and series for your enjoyment.

Summoners rule!

I live the characters in this book. I do wish the main character would get some guy friends to hang out with. excellent book series. no swearing, good plot twists, and plenty of magical goodness.

My only critique wroth be to get rid of the Autosave summaries at the end of each chapter. They're not long, but do become annoying after a while.

Great clean Litrpg series!

I enjoy the narrator, I will complete the story because I already bought all the books. The over use of the phrase “his mind already _____!” It must be used 200 times!

Kills time…

Great plot and character development. writing feels like it's for lower grade level. my biggest gripe, every other chapter they reuse the same line. 'his mind already working on stratagies.' when you hear it, it gets hard to just enjoy the story.

Great plot

I feel like the story is average at best. I also feel like the author is trying to extend he’s word count by adding his Auto save stats at the end of each chapter. I don’t really understand the auto save function in the book. At no point does the story feel like a game, so why is there an auto save? It feels more like an easy way to label the series as litrpg.
Master Barrydew has gone from protective to overbearing and controlling. They want Danny to learn and grow his magic but only if they can control it. There is a lack of trust in Danny. Mind you we’re in year 3. So, for 3 years Danny has been doing everything they’ve asked of him and there still isn’t any trust. Also, we have the big bad Deepcore making threats and some unknown kingdoms invading. The cover art of all the books has a fox on it. You would think the fox would be big part of the story. You would in fact be wrong. The fox only shows up in the 3rd book but it’s a minor foot note at best. The fox doesn’t even stay with Danny. It’s misleading. If anything the cover art should have had a stone golem since that’s Danny’s go to when summoning.
The story is decent enough that I’m continuing to listen to it, but the story isn’t one that draws you into it.

So so story

Constantly hearing that Danny was working on the implications or working to review the strategy was distracting and annoying. Every 5 or so minutes the same statements of "Danny thinking about strategy or the problems", makes the writing feel lazy.

repetitive statements were distracting

The amount of times they used the word determination, or think of a strategy I about didn’t finish this book but the story was solid itself

Good book but has a flaw

it seems like Danny's emotions were described too much. almost like someone else wrote it. it wasn't like that in first 2 books.
