About this listen

Perfectionism is a character or personality trait that causes life to feel like a never-ending report card. A perfectionist feels as if they are being forever graded on their accomplishments, appearance, organization, and just about everything else.

This audiobook explores the ways in which perfection can have positive and motivational impacts, like providing the drive to overcome adversity or achieve certain goals. However, it can often become difficult to manage and lead to unhealthy outcomes that can translate quickly into anxiety, relationship challenges, daily struggles, and overall unhappiness.

You’ll learn how to identify perfectionistic tendencies and their triggers as well as how to build self-acceptance and self-esteem. Learning to cope with and manage perfectionism can lead to better relationships with family, coworkers, and most importantly, with yourself.

Case studies, professional advice, practical tips, chapter recaps, and several easy-to-follow mini-lessons are included in order to make this an audiobook that listeners will use as a reference tool for many years to come.

Perfectionism results in depression, anxiety, anger, stress, frustration, but it a great motivator too. Perfectionists are usually focused on the end result, instead of enjoying the journey. The author provides well-conceived, well-organized, and thoroughly researched work that can be read by anyone desirous to fight perfectionistic characteristics and thereby build your self-esteem, and self-confidence.

Goodbye perfectionism!

It has been a while since I did any self-reflection and glad I did. Chapter 1 gave some good definitions to frame the process. Then the author gives both sides of the issue for balance and clarification. There are many tools in this book for improvement; even if you are not a perfectionist. Certainly in our times, we all know at least one perfectionist close to us. This is not a book report so I will just say, very helpful and recommended!

This book is an eye-opener. After reading this book I came to realize that I have not been fair to myself by my self-critic. This book has made me be more positive than negative about what I think about the way I do my things that makes me think I am a perfectionist. This book opened my eye to the difference between the pursuit of excellence and perfectionism. I now know there is more power in positivity than negativity. I will recommend this book to anyone that is battling with self-critic about negative-mindedness.

I picked this book for a personal reason. As a reforming perfectionist, I find this book provides a refreshing perspective. Though the concept of focusing on yourself and not comparing yourself to others as well as adopting a growth mindset is nothing new, what sets this book apart from other books in this matter is the focus on how parental behavior influence children's tendency for perfectionism and the impact of perfectionism in relationship. After listening to this book, my new mantra is "I am good enough".

A guide to a "you are enough" life :)

If you want everything done perfectly, if you want to the best version of yourself, if you seek excellence, there's nothing wrong with you, you're just among those high achievers, however, perfectionism isn't always helpful, it leads to anxiety and stress, so even though I love being a perfectionist, I read this book to control it, and let go of some of the side effects of perfectionism, such as self-criticism and low self-esteem. I really recommend you read this book and achieve a balanced relaxed life.

Great for perfectionists
