About this listen

Contains volumes one and two of Reincarnated as a Familiar

Volume One

A young teacher finds herself reborn with only fuzzy, damaged memories of her past life. Even worse, she's stuck in the body of a cat and can't remember her own name. Summoned by a young mage girl named Lesti, she takes up the name Astria and becomes the girl's familiar.

However, things won't be easy for her. The pair immediately find themselves in trouble over Astria's summoning. What's more, Lesti is at the bottom of her class and has almost no power of her own. On top of all that, she seeks to use Astria's potential to turn society in this new world on its head. With a new body and abilities that she doesn't understand, will Astria be able to grant Lesti's desire?

Volume Two

After their close call with the archdemon Thel’al, Astria and Lesti are finally given permission to leave the academy grounds. Eager to get out into the city, they head to the market. Almost immediately, they hear whispers of strange happenings in the city. Unable to ignore the problem, they begin to investigate on their own.

Meanwhile, back at the academy, Lesti finds herself in a new class. In fact, it’s the top class in her year! With a unique chance to make friends, she doesn’t waste any time. However, Astria has her concerns. The girl she befriends, Aurelia, is acting suspiciously.

Will Astria safely navigate Thel’al’s schemes and find the secret behind Aurelia’s actions, or will her curiosity spell doom for the Astral Cat?

A good Isekai

Pretty normal far as Isekai go. It had a bit of a slow start but picked up quickly. Where do I sign up to reincarnate as a familiar.

Is she 23 or 5?

The MC is supposed to be a teacher, someone that finished university at least, with extra studies after. logical thinking and being able to handle stressful situations.

However she spends the book throwing tantrums and being a clueless little girl. like seriously? no wonder you died if this is what you see as good enough to teach.

WHERE ARE THE TEACHERS IN THIS ACADEMY?

A decent Story.

This story is reminiscent of the 80s children mystery books like Nancy Drew and Box Car Children. It a fun ride as the listener follows along with just enough mystery and intrigue to keep one listening without being obnoxiously so. This is a wonderful story for children.

The voice actor does an ok job but nothing great. Her voice falls flat many times and becomes boring to listen to. She needs to learn to put more emotion and energy into her vocals that flow with the scene she is trying to convey.

Not Bad

Not bad, but not good either. Like vanilla pudding, it's tasty but nothing special whatsoever. I did like the characters, but the generic story and slow narration spoils them. If you listen to it, I advise 1.25x speed to help the narrator along.

Listened to nearly all of it as I cleaned my house.
Somehow is quite motivating.

decent, but not great.

the whole story felt flat, predictable, and just not that entertaining. I was hoping for more. I stopped listening after book 1 due to lack of interest.

Good reincarnation Fiction

A good story in the same vain as anime and manga like “that time I got reincarnated as a slime” or “so I’m a spider? So what?”.

Very interesting magic system and good relationships.

Very interesting and quite enjoyable ☺️

Enjoyed this quite a bit as it's not often one finds a book from a familiar's perspective. Both the Author and the Narrator did wonderful work. Certainly looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.
