About this listen

As a Rock Chick, Shirleen Jackson lived through all the kidnappings and explosions. Along the way, she also watched the dramatic love stories that came with those rides unfold.

But long ago, Shirleen made her choice. It affected who she was and would always be. She decided to settle for what she had and not want more. She had good friends. She was raising two fine young men who weren't hers, but she loved them anyway. She was good.

And then Moses Richardson crashed into her life, literally...and deliberately. Moses has different ideas about Shirleen. He's more interested in the Shirleen of now, mostly because she's interesting. And funny. And loyal. Smart. Beautiful.

But Moses has a big challenge on his hands.

He has to convince Shirleen of all that.

And then convince her she deserves to have more.

I was so excited to see Sharlene find someone who helped her crack her hard exterior. My heart was so filled with joy when she heard the boys call her Mom for the first time. Always with Kristen Ashley's books, they made me laugh and cry!

AGAIN ANOTHER AWESOME BOOK!

I just re-listened to the entire Rock Chick series and wrapped it up with listening to this one for the 1st time. I read all the reviews where the majority of the people were not happy with a new narrator for this one. It is true, you get used to a certain narrator, especially for an entire series that ran this long, the way that person delivers the persona and accent of each character you have listened to and grown to love. With that being said, I had some hesitation going into this book. At first it was different and took a little bit to adjust to the voice(s) for each character (especially since I had just listened to ALL the other books narrated by Susannah Jones so her narration was fresh on my mind), but by 1/4 way into the book I was totally hooked on Nicole's deliverance of Shirlene and all the characters. In the end, I thought she did a good job with all the characters. She did try and throw some accents in there for some of the Hot Bunch and I thought she did Moses great. My opinion is that if you read all the negative reviews in regards to the narration, give it a listen and come to your own opinion/conclusion. You may end up really enjoying it like I did. I will say the very end makes you wonder if there will be more books on Rome and Sniff. For me, I sure hope so.

Still Loved It, Still a Rock Chick story

One of the best KA books I've heard in a long time. It was fresh, original, beautiful and still had all the best things we love about KA books. I hope in the future she writes Roam and Sniff's stories once they've become men. I think that would make a great end to a great series since they've been so integral since the 4th book. I would say Darius too but at one time she mentioned writing his book in the series she starts with Mace and Stella moving to LA as Darius supposedly goes with him. If not, his should be next, then R & S.
