not a bad book
not a bad a book but take everything with a grain of salt. I will admit that I FREAKED OUT with some of the subject matter but a someone else brought me back down to earth. I did learn a bit here and there but I really think one should look at this as a resource book and not a book of absolute truths (like I first did).

Eye opening and slightly disturbing.
What made the experience of listening to Skinny Bastard the most enjoyable?
As juvenile as it is, the cursing. Seriously, the un filtered "real world" expressions in the writing is what did it for me. In order for a lot of this content to hit home for me and to get to me to listen it had to sound like a friend telling me the information and on that front they nailed it.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Skinny Bastard?
It was very early on, but the information dump on Aspartame. Rocked my world...
What three words best describe Hillary Huber’s performance?
Real, Human, Clear.
Any additional comments?
There are a few moments where the book becomes list heavy, but they are short lived for the most part, and add extra value to info junkies.

Could not finish
I’m sure there’s some great information hidden between all the insults and shit talking directed at the listener unfortunately it irritated me to the point I had to turn it off. Add that to the fact that they’re basically telling you to be a vegetarian and everything else is bad for you no matter what and they do not provide any reasonable alternatives.

Good-ish book, but better books elsewhere
The book definitely is about getting skinny, but even more it is about the vegan life. The book definitely challenged my thinking. Still, be warned that this book is more about protecting animals and vegan diet than about general health. My favorite books on "industry" and food are by Michael Pollan. Skinny Bastard tries to shock you into change. It probably works on some, but the approach turned me away. It seemed more drama than data.
Michael Pollan's books are the kick-in-the-pants I needed - Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food should be read by many. So good.

A slanted PETA Manifesto
If you want to hear cherry picked talking points, leftist slant, and feminist propaganda about how men should act, this is your book. If you want facts, read Whole by Campbell. If you want to be talked down to because you prefer football to yoga or steak to tofu then a) read this book b) sign up for the Oprah book club, and c) go purchase some skinny jeans and drink $8 skinny soy latte green tea at the local coffee shop and pretend to care about bands you've never heard of.
Under the crass and arrogant tones of this book are a few good valid points, which a discerning guy with a brain can sift through and find.
Bottom line, eat more veggies and organic, drink less, and stop using tobacco... You're welcome, as I've just saved you from a horrible experience no matter how much your girlfriend raves about this book!
Ps- I highly encourage you let your lady read skinny bitch, as it might keep her from puking after meals and salads are way cheaper than paying for her to chuck up a filet mignon!
