About this listen

A Deadly Tide is Rising

Just when Kay thought he could relax, a new wave of terror crashes in. Eldritch horrors are emerging worldwide, and now the Seramist Isles are under threat. Answering a call from Queen Alahna, Kay is thrust by the System onto an island paradise where the enemies are like none he’s faced before – duplicates of people only he can detect, and no one knows what they’re after. With no one he can trust, Kay must navigate the treacherous waters of the foreign court while keeping an eye on every single person around him for a knife aimed at his back.

Can King Kay of Avalon unmask the duplicates and stop the tide of devastation before the people of Seramist are lost forever? Dive into the action and find out!

It did a good job taking about some of the events of the previous novel at the beginning which brought me up to speed. There was a lot of action and some interesting progression. Overall, it was a lot of fun. The narration was really well done.

Fun, quick read.

Great continuation of the story but i think because of how short this was compared with previous books, that it felt like nothing happened but a lot of stuff did happen.but yeah probably going to RR to scratch that post book itch

Awesome

This installment was great after the big war of the last book. Having a look into more of the world and another nation was also great. Wondering if this the last book in the series because it’s the fifth book and the series is called the splintered five saga sooooo I hope that’s only the title and not truly the end because we need more of this great series!

God this series just keep getting better!

This story was a side-quest. Though the author did a good job of wrapping up the loose threads left at the end of The ShatterPlate War, the rest of the book didn’t really advance the main storyline much. While I’m sure it set up a bunch of things for the next book, this book’s plot felt very much like something an author might release as a bonus novella or an x.5 installment. Regardless, if you’ve enjoyed this series then you’ll probably enjoy listening to this audiobook just like I did. However, just go into it knowing that it doesn’t have the expansive scope of the previous books in the series.

It was entertaining but not as good as the preceding books.

While enjoyable, compared to the other books it felt like not a lot happened. In other books we had classes gained, nations founded, and titles made. Yet nothing like that in this book.

This book felt more like a short story , set up or filler. Not even that much character relationship development. Things more just happen to the MC than him doing anything.

Like even of he sat in a room the whole book, the things that happened would have still happened without him except the conclusion.

Felt short
