About this listen

Only the lost magic of Dragon Songs can save the world.

The Dragon Singers of old summoned typhoons and routed armies, liberating mankind from the orcs before fading into legend. Now, with evil stirring and hostile empires on the rise, the power of music stirs in Kaiya, a gangly misfit with the perfect voice.

Without a master to guide her, she must rely on the lessons of a foreign paladin, an enigmatic doctor, a flippant elf lord, and an evil sorcerer to rediscover lost magic. Yet doing so means taking dire risks....

Because invoking a Dragon Song can kill you.

Critic reviews

"Kang builds a beautifully balanced world with stirring characters and an unpredictable plot in this epic series that's finely crafted down to the last detail." (Emily R. King, author of the Hundredth Queen series)

It's been a while since I've been this drawn in throughout the entire story. Natalie Naudus was amazing.

Loved this series! Great story about love, hope and dreams. Battles that were fought won and lost. Narrator was awesome!

Love that was won but lost!

the third book was good the first two were slow and the forth one was confusing until the last bit.

the story line was good but was kinda boring through the first two books.

Absolutely in love with this series, as well as the Scions series. The world, the characters their struggles, defeats & victories... so we'll developed. The narrator is excellent. There are a few phrases I found a little over-used, but that may have simply been to re-enforce the character. Hoping for more!

Sad it's over...

if you love fantasy you can't go wrong reading and/or listening to this set; well written where you get sucked into the story. Loved the bonus stories.

It will put you to sleep. You can't focus on the story. Just Don't waste your time or money

Boring Monotone Narrator

Yes, the title is crude, but not wrong. Rape and gang rape is talked about SO much throughout all of the books! And it was always more of an obscure, 'this is something this race of people are known for.' But it increases in mention, to the point that one of the rapists is talking about how much he's looking forward to raping the main princess (*SPOILER - he accomplishes his goal). But in the 3rd book wild ogres are introduced and of course they're rapists too! The princess is literally sitting there, tied up with a group of other girls, when a crying girl is led past her "with blood on her legs". She "knows what that probably means and is sure it will be her same fate soon".

This is when I am just DONE. I don't know, nor do I care if they ever go into graphic detail of the act, because at this point, it doesn't matter. Why the obsession with this topic? I really like a couple of the characters and would have liked to know what happens to them, but I decided to download the ebook to flip through toward the end just to confirm my suspicions and was proven correct. The world we live in is far too messed up and disgusting as it is, I read for enjoyment. Constant talk of rape and gang rape is just not enjoyable to me.

Why is the author obsessed with RAPE?
