Time is running out for Ahren as he and Khara leave their companions under cover of darkness and make their way to the Eternal Empire. Love the story, but don't get me wrong, I was disappointed that Ahren really doesn't get much by himself character growth (with no one from his group of friends around). It really disappointed me that right when the alter ego would win (temporarily or not). I found this book that I love the character more when they are by themselves and not babying or pampering eachother. Friends and lovers are great and all. But I as a reader feel stifled that he needs all this help. I'm going to hold out hope that that mysterious creature after Ahren, allows for what I wanted to happen with the alter ego.
I've read books where groups travel together to get strong and beat the bbeg, but none of them have felt this stifling. I have high hopes that the rest of the adventure doesn't have Ahrens companions and wolf making me want to unlive them for Ahrens growth. No good character growth can happen when being followed by 3 father figures, a mother figure, a wife, and aknow itnall wolf stuck in ones head 24/7 for almost 3y. this small reprieve didn't help when he was too damn excited, for help instead of solving his alter ego problems himself.

i feel stifled for the main character, Ahren is too soft

I enjoy the story in the book. I think separating Ahren and Cara for part of the story, was a jolly good idea

Loved the characters. Every one of them have shown multiple personalities but there was always a cause for the change which always left you wondering which one will win out.

The characters in this book series have been so well defined that i feel like I really know them. The continuing saga has left me astonished on how well this story arc has been conceived. Although it may have been intended for young adult and up, I can’t get enough of it. Good clean adventures that people of all ages can appreciate.

Aside from poor editing in chapter 13 of Battle for Hjalgar and the constant unnecessary use of different forms of “orientate”, I have no complaints

I really enjoyed the characters in the story as well as the constant battle between good and evil.

The twist and turns in this book alone were amazing and kept me on the edge of my seat! And the more you go on the more you’re just like whoa! I love how much the characters have to overcome and develop to move on
