About this listen

The true nature of our minds is enlightened and peaceful, as the depth of the ocean is calm and clear. But when we mentally grasp and emotionally cling to our wants and worries with all our energy, we lose our own enlightened freedom and healing power, only to gain stress and exhaustion, suffering and overexcitement, like the turbulent waves rolling on the surface of the ocean. Our minds possess the power to heal pain and stress, and to blossom into peace and joy, by loosening the clinging attitudes that Buddhists call "grasping at self." If we apply the mind's healing power, we can heal not only our mental and emotional afflictions, but physical problems also. This book is an invitation to awaken the healing power of mind through inspiring images and sounds, mindful movements, positive perceptions, soothing feelings, trusting confidence, and the realization of openness. The healing principle on which these exercises are based is the universal nature and omnipresent power envisioned in Mahayana Buddhism. Yet for healing, we don't have to be believers in any particular faith. We can heal body and mind simply by being what we truly are, and by allowing our own natural healing qualities to manifest: a peaceful and open mind, a loving and positive attitude, and warm, joyful energy in a state of balance and harmony.

Overall very good

If a person can overlook the weird way the narrator changes his voice in an attempt to sound like an ancient Buddhist master the book is a wonderful addition to any Buddhist reading list.

Superb Writer, Super Bad Narrator

The narrator probably didn’t mean it this way, but his use of insipid accents for Buddhist masters quoted by Rinpoche makes this un-listenable. The same narrator does Rinpoche’s other book and it has the same flaw - a big mistake, this is one of the best practice guides for westerners published.

Summary of the best spiritual teachings

As someone who has read similar books before I didn’t find much new information in this one. In fact, it is quoting many of those spiritual masters.

The results for me? This book is exactly what I needed a summary, reminding me of the teachings for the times they really need it. Especially at the time of suffering or sickness.

I cannot believe I got this book for free. I would pay for it.

The importance of meditation

The narrator did a good job I would just focus on my higher power which is God versus Buddha

An Abundance of Healing Strategies

Beautiful wisdom in the beginning of the book- aligning with the teachings of ACIM. Will purchase the paperback version to have a hard copy to reference the meditation and healing techniques shared.

healing, surely the best entry to the divine

Especially when the other solutions fail, you might just have to knuckle down and heal yourself. But how? Listen to this and learn how. Yes, some parts of the readings sound like Tibetan thinking and linguistic mannerisms forced into English, but it's all quite understandable. The latter part of the book is a surprisingly complete how-to. An energy healing solution for you, even if your other sources of help aren't helping, but also if they are helping -- you can help them along. It's also good for living as a more complete and mature human being. Really.
