About this listen

The "genius" national best seller on the art of caring less and getting more - from the author of Calm the F--k Down and F--k No (Cosmopolitan).

Are you stressed out, overbooked, and underwhelmed by life? Fed up with pleasing everyone else before you please yourself? It's time to stop giving a f--k.

This brilliant, hilarious, and practical parody of Marie Kondo's best seller The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up explains how to rid yourself of unwanted obligations, shame, and guilt - and give your f--ks instead to people and things that make you happy. The easy-to-use, two-step not sorry method for mental decluttering will help you unleash the power of not giving a f--k about:

  • Family drama
  • Having a "bikini body"
  • Iceland
  • Co-workers' opinions, pets, and children
  • And other bulls--t!

And it will free you to spend your time, energy, and money on the things that really matter. So what are you waiting for? Stop giving a f--k and start living your best life today!

Better than others that are similar

There's "The Subtle art of not giving a ...." that everyone has been gaga over and it wasn't nearly as good as this one. Also rec "Loving What Is" for more on this topic

Great read

My wife and I have both read this book and Sarah’s Get Your Shit Together. We love her style and her philosophy. Out of the two books, we found the Get Your Shit Together the more helpful. It takes this book and furthers it by really getting into the nitty-gritty. So I guess what I’m saying is if you enjoy this book and we both highly recommend it, make sure to also check out the other book!

Funny book, horrible narrator

Her voice drove me crazy after the first two parts of this book. It could be that the content got redundant and there's only but so many times you need to say "fuck" before you sound juvenile. But I suspect her peppy voice didn't help and made the jokes come across a lot cheesier than they may have in print. The message was great, the messenger sucked.

Enjoyably funny

Funny and enjoyable, yet it hit a nerve when I listened to it. I should have read it before the holiday season.

Funny but too long

I really like the idea of this book. The premise of learning how to say no to things you don’t want to do is definitely a struggle for many of us but I found myself losing interest halfway through the book. She explained there is a difference between saying no & being an A-hole but while it was likely meant to be tongue in cheek, a lot of her examples were mean & not funny. Was ok but sped up the reading to just get it done past the 3/4 mark.

It was ok

Wish it had more depth. Nice little reminder to stop caring so much. Wasn’t impressed but didn’t hate it.
