About this listen

Nicola Price used to have it all - a great career, the perfect boyfriend, an excessive shoe collection, and an apartment in one of San Francisco's best neighborhoods. But when she gets knocked up and her asshat boyfriend leaves her high and dry, Nicola's perfectly crafted world comes tumbling down. Now Nicola is the proud single mother of a five-year-old daughter and living a giant lie. She can barely afford their ghetto apartment, and all the men she dates run when they hear that she comes with a child. She's struggling and scared - and nowhere near where she thought she'd be at age 31. Nicola's saving grace comes in the form of tall, handsome, and wealthy Scotsman Bram McGregor, the older brother of her friend, Linden. Bram understands a thing or two about pride, so when tragic circumstances place Nicola at rock bottom, he offers them a place to live in the apartment complex he owns. But nothing in life is free, and as Nicola gets her feet back on the ground, she discovers that the enigmatic playboy may end up costing her more than she thought. She might just lose her heart.

Can she risk her heart?

Nicola is a single mom. That means she isn’t just risking her heart with love, but her child’s as well. Can she trust this amazingly hot Scotsman? Great story! Couldn’t stop listening. Nicole Poole was excellent! There is nothing better than having the musical brogue of Antony Ferguson drifting through my earbuds. Yumm!!

A sweet love story

oh i really really liked Bram. I want a Bram for my own!! A dirty talking, perverted, cocky (total pun intended), and fun scottish man with a sexy as sin accent. Yup, sign me up. I liked Nicola. She wasn't stupid, she thought logically (for the most part) and she had her head on her shoulders and knew her priorities. I loved watching them fall in love.

I did NOT like Nicola's reaction to Bram's secret. It was very drama queen.

I enjoyed the story but not enough to double back and listen to the first book. Maybe when I'm bored or looking for an easy love story.

story 3.5
narrators 3 the female narrator was getting some slack for sounding too old but I enjoyed her performance. Antony Ferguson does an amazing scottish accent but his american accent is for shit. He had them sounding like they had southern accents...lol. It was pretty funny then became sad because he is so talented. Keep trying Antony!!!

Female narrator

Her child voice wasn’t at all enjoyable to listen to. Storyline wasn’t strong for me. Love The Pact though! Also one of the love scenes didn’t translate when she goes to the door and they proceed to lovemaking and it says nothing about what she has on? Like did she go to the door naked? Weird. Not believable.

Good story!!

This was so much better than the first installment in the series. I loved he narrators as they provided a better experience than reading would've, especially with that Scottish brouge. I enjoyed it tremendously. I may even fine the next installment a try.

Enjoyed Bram and Nicola's story!

Overall 4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!
Performance 4.5 stars
Story 4.5 stars

I really enjoyed listening to this book. The narrators were great. They really brought the story to life.
Right from the start, I just had to know how Bram would turn things around. He really pissed me off in the beginning. I didn't like him at all after the stunt he pulled at the wedding. Then as the story progresses, I slowly started to forgive him. He had his work cut out for him though and the journey that Karina Halle takes us on leads to his redemption.
Overall a 4.5 star listen!

Great Book Worth a Credit

Would you listen to The Offer again? Why?

Yes. It was a great story about real adult situations. It wasn't sappy sweet not was it gruff and rough. I loved the interaction between all of the characters in the book. But I especially liked the scenes between Bram and Nicole.

What other book might you compare The Offer to and why?

I can't think of one. That's probably another reason I liked this book so much. For me, it was original.

Have you listened to any of Antony Ferguson and Nicole Poole ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't but I would now. They did a great job narrating.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I had a hard time putting it down.

Any additional comments?

Great narrator

I love Nicole Poole read books - it took a little for me to adjust to the dual narration of the book but once u do its great. Its a good story and at times you literally cringe and swear at Bran🤣

Narrators 🤦🏾‍♀️

I really like this authors writing still but the narrators didn’t bring it to life. I finished this book because I didn’t have to use a credit.

A bit too slow, but good enough....

I actually found myself laughing at the narration. Neither is very good at the scottish brogue. The story is slow, a bit too slow, but good enough to enjoy.

Good read

I always love flawed characters because I can relate to them. This author took on the good and the bad of her characters, and the reader brought them to life.
