About this listen

At the best of times, Jeremiah could be described as a vengeful man.

In the worst of times, one could call him a monster. The reality, though, was that he was a monster hunter. Or that's how he liked to style himself.

In a world of creatures that went bump in the night, few fought for humanity. Fewer still put humanity first. Fighting with sword, blade, or word, their numbers were insufficient.

Those who did did so from places and situations that the world didn't appreciate or condone. That they'd actively disavow and ignore.

Unfortunately, for those who fought such a battle, those who stared into the abyss long enough, it most certainly did indeed stare back. Stare back and set roots deep within.

Jeremiah is about to experience when even the abyss is revealed to be nothing at all, and discovers his own truth.

Even if it's a lie.

While the story was very good at times, it also dragged on in some stretches. The MC seemed too one dimensional and could have used some more nuances to round him out. On the plus side the supporting cast was a unique mess of interesting characters. I will definitely get the next book.

Stephanie as always was fantastic

Really great entry in the Soverignverse by newcomer Victor Krabin. Really like his characters and this new expansion of the universe and cant wait for more. Stephanie does an amazing job of narrating.

I didn't like the characters much and the books pacing seemed off to me.

not my favorite but still pretty good

I love this universe!
It opens up so much variety.
Each trilogy is different and yet connected to all the others.
This one seems pretty closely related to the Swing Shift trilogy and I'm looking forward to seeing how this new harem group fits in.
I'm jonesing for the 2nd book and will probably listen to this one a couple more times before it comes out, just like I've done with, pretty much, all of them.
I'm giving this book 9 out of 5 stars.

Arand gold!

I really enjoyed it. I thought the plot was a little slow in the beginning. But all the mysteries around the main character turned out to be quite interesting and kept me looking forward to the reveals of the story. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here. And then that's book. There is a lot of murder in this book. It's not all about murder.
But the main character Struggles a lot with his Mental state. But that's a part of the story, and I quite enjoyed it.

it was good

Our masterful author doesn't let us down with this story that pulls threads from Swing Shift, Incubus Inc., and Monsters Mercy. True fans will recognize the connections and smile, and new fans will find a great story that has the ability to keep you invested all the way to the end. (And baited for more)

This Pairs great with Swing Shift

I liked the characters, situation and can't wait for more. Hopefully well see the suggested crossover with some existing characters.

Good addition to William D Arands worlds

This is a hot pile of garbage story and plot... Hours of whining and self interspection. I have bad toothaches that were more pleasant than the aimless droning of the MC. No plot or direction in what happening in the story, just hours of listening of listening to someone's inner monologue.

Painful and Boring to listen to
