  • Access simple ways in which you can begin exercising regularly, and understand why this is crucial
  • Find that special balance between the demands of work, your lifestyle, and your health
  • Discover effective coping strategies to help you deal with the emotional toll of living with a chronic illness
  • Explore and understand modern advice and guidance for living with type 2 diabetes
  • Challenge and respond to people who don’t understand living with diabetes
  • Find realistic ways to manage the costs of diabetes medications and healthcare, so you don’t have to worry about your wallet on top of everything else
  • Engage and interact with healthcare professionals to get personalized guidance that is relevant to you
  • Understand the impact of diabetes on your mental health and well-being, and know exactly what you can do to protect both
  • Deal with the physical and emotional pain of managing diabetes-related complications
  • Find the best ways to maintain healthy habits in the face of social pressure and temptation

Plus, you’ll get Understanding High Blood Pressure to guide you in managing your blood pressure! In this book, you’ll discover:

  • The different types of medications that can manage your hypertension...and how they might interact with foods, supplements, or other drugs you’re taking
  • The heart of the matter when it comes to the causes of hypertension is to find out what specific factors might be putting you at risk so you can avoid them
  • The underlying medical conditions that can cause your blood pressure to spike (so you can find the right approach to manage your health better)
  • Ten questions you need to ask your healthcare provider (when it comes to blood pressure medications, it’s better to be safe than sorry)

An Abundance of Information

The prevention methods offered in these two books, as my title mentions abundant. We all get set into patterns of eating, it sometimes is generational, your grandparents handed it down to your parents and so on, you get the picture. I agree with Dr. Sullivan's approach on the preventive side, being a health coach myself and getting my clients to understand their patterns and craving triggers is crucial to their success and attaining their goals. Should you be challenged with diabetes or high blood pressure? I highly recommend a listen and beautifully narrated by Pam.

Very Educational!

Overall, I thought this book was very educational! I learned a lot about what causes people to get diabetes and high blood pressure. For example, I had no idea that smoking can cause people to have diabetes so that was very interesting, I also learned a lot about how people with diabetes cope with it each day in terms of what treatments they have. This book can help people with diabetes and it can have a positive impact on them as well:)

Really comprehensive book

I was looking for a book like this because I have high blood pressure but had no idea why. I eat eggs for breakfast, chicken and salad for lunch and salmon and salad for dinner. This book helped me understand the interaction between insulin and blood sugar, and to focus on what I can change in my diet to achieve my goals of being diabetes-free. Thoroughly recommend.
