About this listen

Whether you’d like to give up alcohol or just drink less—or you’re just thinking about drinking less—this guide is for you.

Each day for 30 days, New York Times best-selling author and recovery expert Holly Whitaker brings you a 5- to 10-minute reflection aimed at helping you change your relationship with alcohol, drawing on her personal experience and grounded in the latest research.

This is not necessarily a sobriety program. You don't have to quit drinking to participate. Instead, we’ll work with the thought patterns that are often tied to the reasons we drink, drink too much, and keep drinking when we don’t want to.

30 Days to a New Relationship with Alcohol is crafted to help you gently but powerfully change your brain and your life. All you have to do is listen.

This guide is part of the 30-Day Guides to Improve Your Life series. Follow the series to get notified of titles forthcoming this year on setting better boundaries, rediscovering your creativity, and thriving with ADHD.

Eye-opening, beautifully written, and motivational

A brilliant follow-up to Quit Like a Woman. This book can help adjust your relationship to really anything — alcohol, phone use, overeating — that isn’t serving you in the way you need it to.

helpful beyond substance abuse/alcohol use

several of the affirmations were really helpful, and fleshed out with her explanations. I think it is a general self-help book as much as anything. it also helped affirm many of the things I already do.

A very helpful audiobook

I liked the short segments I could listen to before work every day. I haven't given up alcohol completely but I found this book helpful with being mindful of how much I drink and drinking less.

She understands me

The author really hits home with the best advice for anyone who struggles with addiction. Her voice is emotional and I really feel her own struggles.

Inspiring , Encouraging , Insightful.

I thoroughly enjoyed this because it resonates with my way of processing information as it relates to big behavioral changes. All the while maintaining a balance of spirituality, reality, reflection, and leaving space for mistakes, forgiveness, the lessons, then grabbing the ball and finding the courage to take another shot the next day.

Although I didn’t drink any alcohol before I started this read and none up until this review submission, I loved that the space was given for those who did. I decided to stop drinking for now for reasons of productivity more than anything, and this listen/read was one I’m glad I stumbled upon along the beginning of my journey.

Awesome Listen! Try it out! You won’t be disappointed.
