Over the past ten years the numbers of wives who have affairs has grown dramatically. Recent surveys suggest by as much as 50 percent. Yet, in all the acres of space devoted to male infidelity, so far this has been a largely untouched subject. In this guide, Carol Botwin - advice columnist, therapist and author - rushes to help rather than to condemn. Drawing from 600 interviews and case histories - with both husbands and wives - Botwin examines causes, initial attractions, affairs in progress, endings and aftermaths.

Story
An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

Dr. Janis Abrahms Spring proposes a radical, life-affirming alternative that lets us overcome the corrosive effects of hate and get on with our lives—without forgiving. She also offers a powerful and unconventional model for earning genuine forgiveness—one that asks as much of the offender as it does of the hurt party.

In this book, Dr. Greg and Erin Smalley offer practical ways to rekindle the passionate, intimate, heart-to-heart spark of connection between husbands and wives.

Affairs are more than sex
This book is the first book that I have ever read that discussed the emotional and addictive parts of an affair. I found David Carter’s ideas extremely enlightening. This book, if followed, could save someone a lot of grief.

The title had me unsure if I wanted to read this, but the description made me interested. I really enjoyed it for such a sensitive subject. Very informative and relatable. Lots of useful exercises that I can’t wait to do with my husband to learn more about ourselves, each other and to help protect our marriage. Highly recommend.

Very good!
It explains amazingly the different kind of affairs. Why people cheat and the link between family or origin and infidelity. it also gives tips to avoid the affair. Sadly, you do not read it until you already have a BROKEN HEART.
