About this listen

Carl thought his life was on track until disaster struck. Now he looks like a 35-year-old and is out of points, so he needs to scramble to change the situation before anyone finds out the truth.

The question is, what should he do next? Buy more businesses, or focus on his love life? And always in the background is his family, wondering what happened to their father and grandfather and if he will ever talk to them again.

Biomedical Self-Engineering: Book 2 is a LitRPG slice-of-life adventure, following Carl as he discovers new ways of living when he is nearing the end of his own life. There are no explicit scenes or harems, and very little swearing.

I really enjoyed this continuation of the story with Carl. Soundbooth Theater does an excellent job with the narration as I've come to expect. I'm interested to see where this story goes in the third chapter in this series.

Excellent Story!

A few plot points are skirting on the edge of belief, but I mean, it's a story with aliens... A very wholesome and satisfying story for the most part, with great performances by all the narrators. I binged both books in a few days and I'm looking forward to the next one.

One of my absolute favorite books and it got narrated by one of my favorite voices. J.T.J. knocks it out of the park once again.

Superb Story, Amazing Narration

Another good addition to the series with one annoyance. While I understand this series is a low stake, slice of life, series. It's a bit odd that Carl has no urgency or care about his new found powers for the large majority of the book. Maybe Carl is just 'stuck in his ways', but for a man who regularly attended UFO and conspiracy conventions to have a supernatural event happened to him I find it a bit odd that they would just not seem to care.

Other then that it's a fun story and a great performance. I can't wait to listen to the next installment!

A good continuation to the series.

Why write a book if NOTHING is actually going to happen in it. The plot did not move an inch. Not a one.

Why bother.

the first boom I gave 5 stars and I prob would have with this one e too but... it ends with him sobbing with a broken heart?

if you are going to write a lighthearted series, don't end a book in sadness. n9body likes a depressing ending. this series is almost fully character developement without a ton of action which is fine by me, but I don't read books to be saddened. I read them for many reasons..escape, laughter, exileration, character bonding... never ever to be left sad.
even though I like the characters and the storyline, I doubt i'll continue because I read to escape depressing things lol.

kinda depressing
