Very well outlined and informative

I live with someone who is bipolar and this book pretty much summarized everything his psychiatrist and psychologist has been telling him. It is a terrible illness which affects not only him but everyone that is closest to him. I chose this book to learn more about him but I also need to learn how to care for myself and how to deal with his illness so that will be my next book because self-care is extremely important.

Excellent Resource

"A mental illness is one that effects the mind, not one that's all in the mind."

As someone very familiar with bipolar disorder I found this a great resource. Sometimes I cringe at how things are explained in a lot of resources but nothing in this made me feel that way. And they understand your brain might not be able to process so they do a mini review of each chapter. Overall, great quick read that I'll definitely be sharing.

I can handle this condition better.

Any additional comments?

I now believe that I have a cousin that's bipolar. I've always thought that something was off with him. There are a lot of times when we’re hanging out and we’d be laughing our assess off, and while we're still on that subject and still getting a good chuckle out of it, he'd be switching to brooding mode soon after. It, however, got weirder.

Almost a year and a half ago, my aunt called up my mom sounding worried and scared because my cousin was so depressed because he threatened my aunt that he’d kill himself. That’s not even the weird part. The day after that, my cousin asked the whole gang out for a day at the theme park.

My other cousins and I were like “did you know what happened yesterday?” and so and so forth. After listening to Sara’s audiobook, I’m somewhat left with mixed feelings. At one end, I’m a little saddened because a family member is suffering from a mental disorder.
At the other, I’m grateful because I got find out about my cousin’s problem.

At least now, I can handle his condition better. So, thanks for making me realize this, Sara!
