About this listen

Seven Witches. One traitor. An army of the dead.

Brin is scarred, but no longer alone. After giving up his evil Rare Class in exchange for the simple and common Glasser, he’s finally been accepted by the people of Hammon’s Bog. But acceptance doesn't guarantee safety. Mirrors and glass spearheads offer little protection against threats both outside and within.

An army of undead is lurking in the surrounding forest, cutting them off from the rest of the world. There’s no rescue in sight, and worse, no one knows why the army is there or when it will attack. Brin's only lead? A chilling revelation: the army's movements are controlled by someone inside the town. As tension rises and time runs out, Brin must unmask the traitorous Witch hidden in plain sight before the town is engulfed in darkness.

I really like how this series goes into a lot of detail and the magic system and leveling. And the fact that the MC isn’t instantly OP is refreshing.

Genre Standout

I like the growth and discovery and progressive pace of learning as well as the stumbling and normal stumbling blocks that happen when learning. It feels true and not handed out powers/ skills that make a boring overpowered mc that the reader isn't invested in.

A story that drew me in has variety twists and turns

Nice story, Can't wait for the third installment. Voice actor got the preteen whine down a little too good.

great

I honestly have no complaints of plot, meter, theme, nor performance. there is nuance, quirks of personality throughout, and enough emotional engagement to have feelings and opinions of each character. while there are plenty of tropes throughout, the intermingling and delivery of the entirety leave nothing to be regretful about. if you don't enjoy the series, it's your own damn fault.

these books have no business being this good or engaging!!

I really enjoy Johnathan McClains Narration style for this book. It has the same type of humorous style as Noobtown and Bens Damn Adventure. The story is well done and the class system is very interesting. The book hinted that classes can keep evolving, so I'm hoping that the next book will show the MC with more class progression on the next book.

Great Narration style

I enjoyed the story and think it’s a great young adult book with an isekai twist. The main character is entertaining, though he sometimes does dumb things because he’s still seen as a “kid” despite being a 27-year-old reincarnated. The action scenes are fun, and the character interactions are always engaging and entertaining.

Overall, it’s a good story that any teenager would enjoy, though it might not appeal as much to adults.

Can’t wait for the next one. Thanks to the author for not going the cringe harem route.

This book draws you in, I listened in one sitting and am anxious for the next installment!!!
So incredible, the action and adventure on point, some really good feel your throat tighten, lump form, maybe a tear or two falling during some scenes.
A few good laughs also along the way.
Thank you too the narrator and to the writer who are doing beautifully wonderful!!!!

Amazing! Beautifully wonderful

First, I enjoyed the book. Many LitRPG books seem to be written for teenagers or just are very poorly written. This is not that; this is very mature and nicely done making it more enjoyable to listen to. The narrator does admirably as well. I would listen to more. My rating is not higher because I reserve that for the more rare elite books like the Cradle series or Beware of Chicken. And this book dips a bit from book one by taking longer to get to the story and going more heavy on witch stuff.

Well written, really witch heavy though

Really enjoyed this book and the first. Generally I struggle with these types because of the constant stat listing but I was so engaged in barely noticed them. The story flows really well and the dialogue feels natural. The characters are all interesting and they aren’t just there as props for the MC to rescue or show off how much better he is. The main characters growth is perfect, not too slow but not so fast that the book gets boring. Looking forward to the third installment, hopefully it doesn’t take too long.

Great story
